Our usual stops are Buchanan Hollow for prepared foods, Country Gourmet for salads, R. G. Rimmers for fresh meats, and Keplers Seafood for fresh fish. The West Shore Farmers Market is a great local, casual place to shop. The vendors we visit are all welcoming, thankful & friendly.

The West Shore Farmer's Market is actually so cool!!!! Just went for the first time yesterday and…read morewas really impressed. It was larger than the Harrisburg downtown one and reminded me of Reading Terminal in Philly (less crowded but still lots of options). There's also tons of parking all surrounding the building. The upstairs section has small specialty shops; the lower level is full of food vendors -- from produce to fresh pasta to tacos to pizza to pierogies to quiches. They also even had plant stands and floral arrangements. I got 1.5lbs of fresh made spinach fettuccine from Fasta & Ravioli, two very tasty bagels from Bagel Lovers (foccacia flavored and everything egg bagels--both were SO delicious and a great texture; they also had tons of other varieties like pumpernickel, onion, and blueberry, all made fresh daily and for a very reasonable price -- I think I paid something around $3 for my two bagels). I could've spent tons more time there but unfortunately was just stopping by after running an errand in the area. Needless to say, I will be back!!

While taking a Saturday afternoon stroll through Midtown Harrisburg, I came across the Susquehanna…read moreArt Museum and was pleasantly surprised by the experience. The museum was hosting a free community event featuring live music, local art, and free pumpkin painting, which made for a wonderful addition to an already beautiful day. A few highlights from my visit: Free community events that make art accessible and welcoming to everyone. Live music and hands-on activities that created a fun and lively atmosphere. A beautiful new courtyard space that was perfect for enjoying the afternoon. Friendly and welcoming staff who helped make the experience enjoyable. Clean and well-maintained bathrooms. A great addition to a day spent exploring Midtown Harrisburg. One of the most interesting parts of the museum was the main exhibit space, which incorporates a beautifully refurbished historic bank. Walking through the old vaults and architecture felt like stepping back into the early 1900s, creating a unique contrast with the contemporary artwork on display. A few tips for visitors: Parking can be a bit challenging nearby, especially during events. I recommend parking near Broad Street Market and taking a leisurely walk through Midtown to the museum. Be sure to check the museum's event calendar, as they frequently host special programs, exhibitions, and community events. Overall, the Susquehanna Art Museum offers much more than just art on the walls. Between the historic architecture, engaging exhibits, community programming, and welcoming atmosphere, it's a wonderful cultural destination in Harrisburg. Whether you're an art enthusiast or simply looking for something interesting to do in the city, it's absolutely worth a visit.

Today was my second day visiting this business. My husband and I came for the introduction to…read morepottery class. It was an excellent experience. The owner / instructor took us from the very beginning, setting the clay in the center of the wheel through selecting glazes. The class took less than three hours, but we each made 3 pieces. This was an excellent Valentines weekend activity to do together. The staff is extremely helpful and I noticed in the shop area, there are a number of new pottery items for sale. This business seems to be consistently changing and developing new products and designs. My husband is contemplating getting us the 4 week session package for more pottery classes. I would strongly recommend the introductory class, as it is not overly expensive, and you walk away with three pieces you made yourself. I am updating my review to add a fifth started this business. They are new to the area but are growing, changing, and branching out to the community. It sounds like their class schedule is already filling up. I look forward to my next opportunity to create a unique piece of art. Fun!
