We first met Norm in early 2021 and immediately felt a connection. After our very first viewing with him, he chatted with us for a good 45 minutes. As first-time home buyers, we had a bunch of questions and he patiently answered them all. He was definitely someone we saw ourselves working with. Our plans changed mid-year and we ended up waiting until late 2021 to purchase our home. Norm was super patient with us and never seemed to mind our millions of questions. He even responded to our calls/texts after hours! He is very knowledgeable and really took the time to provide thoughtful answers. We saw a few homes with Norm and at the end of each viewing, he would chat with us to gauge our interest and answer our questions. I feel like he really took the time to learn about what we wanted in a home. We never felt pressured to purchase a home and felt that Norm was truly in it to find the best home for us. Fast-forward to our first (and only offer) on a really great home, Norm provided guidance on what to offer based on our personal budget and his best appraisal guess. We went into contract (one and done, woohoo!) and appraised. During escrow, Norm ensured that everything went smoothly by regularly following up with our lender. We really appreciated his availability and support during escrow. Would highly recommend Norm - he really knows the SF area well and took very good care of us!!! THANK YOU NORM!!! :) read more

The decision to work with Norm was hands down the single best decision we made during our home buying process. Without Norm, I am not sure if we could have been able to find and secure a home that met our needs in this extremely competitive market as first time buyers. Norm is extremely knowledgeable, fast acting and responsive, and above all else, extremely kind and caring. From the beginning, Norm took the time to understand our needs and goals for our first home. He took extra care to understand how our home would work for our growing family and brainstorm potential creative solutions. While we visited properties, Norm took the time to educate us on what to look for and helped us figure out what would work and what wouldn't work for our needs. When we got word of the property that seemed to be the fit, Norm acted swiftly to help us view the property and put together an aggressive offer that met the expectations of the seller. He answered our questions quickly and spent a great deal of time talking things through on the phone to help ensure we weren't overwhelmed, as we navigated all of this for the first time. We felt confident during this intense process with Norm on our side! He even helped us to negotiate for a credit. Ultimately the home was appraised for $100K over what we paid, thanks to Norm's hard work! Norm is not only extremely knowledgeable about the local market, but also has a great list of connections that proved to be extremely helpful for us in the process from financing to contract work, which made us feel cared for and guided in each step of the process. We have loved every referral Norm has provided and have felt a huge relief knowing we can really trust his recommendations. We are so thankful for Norm! We could not have made it happen without him! read more

Norm was the trusted guide my husband and I needed as we navigated our first home purchase. He took the time to truly understand our values and vision for our family. Within a few open houses, we learned an incredible amount about the SF real estate market. Norm welcomed all of our questions. He was honest, kind, and thoughtful when it came to evaluating whether a home would be a good fit for us or not. We never felt any pressure to make a decision. With Norm, I felt like each viewing got us closer and closer to the right home. Norm's active listening skills really shone when he shared an upcoming listing in the Richmond district. I was unfamiliar with the area, but had heard positive things about it. My husband and I decided to spend an afternoon in the Richmond and fell in love with the sense of community, thriving business corridors, and access to nature. Since we loved the area, Norm arranged a private viewing of the listening. It was love at first sight! Norm sprung into action to help us make an informed decision. He opened his network to us and we have continued to benefit from his amazing friends and business partners. Norm arranged inspectors and contractors to visit the home. We learned exactly what we were buying before we put in an offer. I felt empowered with information and filled with a sense of possibility. It took a village to secure our first home! I am so grateful that Norm welcomed us into his community with open arms. He truly has our best interest at heart. I feel lucky to be Norma's neighbor and friend now :) I highly recommend working with Norm! read more

I do not typically write reviews but my experience working with Norm and Ashley is important to share. I had the pleasure to meet them through mutual acquaintances when I had no success selling a family home that has been on the marker over a year. Norm and Ashley sprang into action immediately with their white glove services and got the job done. I was impressed throughout the whole process because we had a lot of challenges to overcome. That's another thing, you must be willing to work with this team closely for the best possible outcome. Not only were we able to sell the house, shortly after the team also helped me purchase another house and close within 12 days! I hope you find your way to Norm Fung and Associates. Norm and Ashley are the real deal in this community, and based on my experience, I can assure you success! read more

Norm was an incredible agent for me and my family. What sealed the deal for us was 1. how truly knowledgeable he was about the market and home details (just about every question we had along our search, he knew the answer. And if not, he'd research on our behalf and get back to us within a day). And 2. the genuine desire to get to know us, our needs, and find the right fit. There was never any pressure. He was in it for the long haul if that's what it took. And working with a genuine and honest person is so important when searching for a house. Outside of those major qualities - Norm made the whole process seamless. He was super organized and on top of everything. Going to walk thrus on our behalf - sending super thorough photos and video updates if we were unable to attend. Helping up set up a home warranty. And being a go to contact for all things during and after purchasing our home. I would recommend Norm to anyone looking to buy! I consider myself so lucky to have met him and have his help as a trusted guide and agent. read more

Norm is the real estate agent you want to work with! He is professional and always available for questions. His knowledge as a native San Franciscan and his connections (with other agents, inspectors, sellers) make him an ideal real estate agent for anyone looking to buy or sell in San Francisco. Not only does he understand the bidding process (and strategies) but he understands the closing process and will get the deal done! We had a challenging time with the bank giving us a loan (Covid times) and Norm was there every step of the way giving advice and making phone calls on our behalf (even when he was on vacation). As native San Franciscans ourselves, we're so grateful to Norm for helping us stay in San Francisco. If you are looking for a real estate agent look no farther. Norm is the best and our new neighbor! read more

We first worked with Norm on our first home purchase back in 2012, and he's been a great resource and friend to us ever since then. We've contacted him on various occasions with questions or seeking advice on various home-related issues. When we eventually decided to sell our condo, it was a no-brainer to reach out to Norm again. Throughout the process, he answered all of our questions and gave us great advice, and in the end we got more money than we expected. He knows the SF real estate landscape well and is always responsive to our requests. I would recommend Norm and his team to anyone looking to sell a home. read more

Norm helped me buy my first condo in 2016. I got married last year and when it was time to sell my condo, I naturally reached back out to Norm. We were debating whether to wait til later in the year to put our condo on the market. Norm encouraged us to get it ready earlier due to potential increase in mortgage rates, and he was right. From the first call, Norm and his colleague Ashley had done their homework, putting together comps of recent sales in our building, and coming up with a fair and realistic target sales price range. Once we moved out all our things, Norm and Ashley took care of everything, from getting our unit painted to make it look fresh, staging, recommendations on listing price to get the most traffic, working with our HOA to get all the disclosures together, and getting our place ready for the open houses. We followed Norm's advice to do the standard two weekends of open houses at times when light was the best to showcase the property. Norm and Ashley were physically there at all the open houses and kept us updated on the number of visitors and disclosure packets they sent out. We loved the staging and we feel it made a real difference to showcase our place at its best. We were lucky enough to get 4 offers, two of them all cash, at the higher end of our price range, and closed in 10 days. Norm and Ashley made everything go as seamlessly as possible! They were responsive throughout, guided us through our many questions, and were just easy and fun to work with. I would recommend Norm and his team to all sellers and buyers, especially in the San Francisco area! read more

Norm is an extremely professional and knowledgeable real estate agent with a wealth of contacts in the Bay Area. My wife and I interviewed a vast number of agents in San Francisco, CA but decided to pursue a purchase of a home with Norm. He actually, "listened" to our specific needs then asked us thought provoking questions on our home search for hours. We worked with Norm for 6 months at the height of the pandemic. When showing homes Norm would methodically point out all positives and negatives of each home such as the quality of construction, layout, finish, appliances, neighborhood and upgrades. We really thought of Norm as a consultant as he gave us invaluable advice on loan specifics, investment potential and likelihood of actually closing. If you are purchasing a new home in the Bay Area we would definitely recommend Norm. His best quality is he is personable and responsive. He is truly our trusted advisor in all aspects of real estate. Best of all we were looking for an agent but gained a friend. read more

I can say without hesitation that Norm is a wonderful guy and talented realtor. We just bought our second amazing home thanks to him. After benefiting from his calm, knowledgeable guidance when locating and purchasing a 2-unit building together with family, we didn't think twice about calling Norm when we were ready to buy a single family home. And just like before, Norm has gone above and beyond to get us into a perfect home for us. We found both places before they hit the market, and with his help, our bids were always exactly the right amount of competitive. And it's not just his home-buying strategy that has made the difference. Over the course of these 2 purchases, he has linked us to amazing new lenders when the ones we chose fell through, called an engineer friend to a Sunday night walkthrough to get us some critical info (we passed and it was absolutely the right decision), and kept things moving even when that meant working late nights, weekends, and during his own vacation! He's a local SF guy who cares about his clients and community, and we're so lucky to have him as a realtor and now friend! Norm was recommended to us by a friend, we've recommended him to everyone we know buying homes, and we all agree that working with Norm is the best decision you can make. read more

We are so happy to have found Norm as our agent. We are out of town buyers, so during our house hunting period, every time we were in San Francisco, Norm would take us to see a list of carefully prepared listings, all organized in a way to maximize the effectiveness of our time there. When we couldn't make the trip, he does real-time video tours such that we feel we were almost there in person. Our purchase was also complicated by the fact that it was contingent on the sale of another property, whose buyer was giving us delays. Norm not only represented us in our purchase, but also shared a lot of knowledge with our listing agent for the other transaction, as well as working closely with our property manager. He was relentless and gave us tons of great advice both during the transaction and even after closing. If you are in the market in San Francisco, Norm is your guy. read more

Local knowledge, process expertise, responsiveness, negotiation skills...10+ stars should be an option. I had no idea the extent of work involved selling a home. Norm's involvement and knowledge allowed for a stress-free transaction. Always went above and beyond in meeting my needs; both in-person and on the phone. He genuinely cared for my family and the home we were selling. Because selling a home can sometimes be an emotional undertaking, I was more than grateful for Norm's knowledge and deep understanding that this sale was so much more than just a piece of property to us. Norm has been a great partner throughout my house-hunting process which lasted on and off for over 2 years, with me going from looking at condos, then single family homes, pausing, and back to condos in the city. Norm is very knowledgeable and patient, and hand-holded me throughout the entire process, from searching to loan pre-approval, signing and closing. Through his relationship with the selling agent, Norm was also able to negotiate consessions from the seller we didn't think was possible. If you are looking for an agent who invests time and effort in building relationships and getting results, Norm is the person! I highly recommend him. read more

Buying property in San Francisco is chaotic and stressful, having to move big $$$ and make life-changing decisions quickly. Norm made sure to help us every step of the way and his team kept working behind the scenes to make the home-buying process manageable and took on so much of the stress so that we didn't have to. My wife and I have worked with Norm twice now to purchase property. Following our first purchase, Norm kept in contact with us, meeting us for coffee and bringing us homemade treats for our cat and dog. He has always been courteous and friendly, and the added personal touches make him a pleasure to work with. His biggest value, however, is in providing advice to navigate a confusing and complex process full of costly pitfalls. He never pushed us to do anything and always looked out for our best interests. I'd happily recommend Norm to anyone purchasing a home in SF. read more

Norm was a great partner and resource for me for what was a daunting and tricky undertaking in finding a comfortably priced home in the midst of market changes from interest rate shifts and dwindling inventory. We were able to get a very good price on a really great home. Norm had sussed out what my needs were fairly quickly and accurately and was able to re-focus me when my attention would stray to the "shiny objects" that seemed attractive but were not truly meeting what my original goals were when I set out on the search for my home. He was my real estate therapist, keeping me within my original goals, financially and lifestyle wise. I appreciated his wisdom and level headed approach. His long experience in real estate was very apparent throughout the process. read more

I knew that we wanted a 2nd home (loft-like) in San Francisco. Norm was really good at listening to our preferences and needs. He took us on tours of several neighborhoods and showed us a variety of different building types to better hone in on our preferences. I worked with Norm Fung on the sale of our family home. But his team didn't just handle the sale. They connected us to an excellent owner attorney, as we were dealing with a tenant that could hamper the sale. Smooth sale despite the difficult tenant situation. read more

I would give Norm six stars if I could. My family has used Norm as both a buying and selling agent for almost ten years now, so we have extensive experience working with him on both sides of the fence, including recently. Having gone through the experience multiple times, I couldn't imagine buying home without Norm or using someone else. For most people, buying a home will be the largest and possibly most daunting experience of their lives and having someone as knowledgeable and diligent as Norm is a must. His professionalism and attentiveness is a total cut above almost any agent I've ever met, couple with his impressive knowledge base and hustle to get hard work done. He also personalizes each action to make sure that his client's are getting exactly what they want but in the most pragmatic way. On the buying side, twice now have I been able to get a house below list, both in hot markets. On the selling side, he was able to get above ask. And he tries to make the process as frictionless as possible. And every referral I've made for him has been met with beyond full satisfaction by those clients as well. I wouldn't bother spending more time on finding a better agent, that time is better spent finding the house of your dreams! read more

Norm is the best! We were first time home buyers and he steered us with his knowledge and experience into the perfect home. We've lived in San Francisco for 20 years but didn't have a good grasp of all the distinct neighborhoods. Norm showed us around and helped us zero in on the neighborhood we wanted to live in. When he took us out to look at homes, he showed us all the important things to look for when considering a purchase from, the structure, to the architecture, to the livability. Once we found our home, he was thoughtful, smart, and trust-worthy throughout the entire home buying process. He helped us negotiate a smart deal and guided us throughout the entire escrow process. He also tapped into his network of professionals to find us a great lender who helped us close in a timely manner. We didn't think we could find a home in San Francisco but Norm made it possible with his positivity, friendliness and expertise.
