The first time I went to a Norky's was when I was in Lima. My partner, who is Peruvian, had said it was one of his favorite places to get barbecued chicken (peruvian style). During that trip, we must have gone to a Norkys at least 10 times - not only in Lima, but when we went north as well (forget about ceviche on the beach...he wanted Norkey's).
3 years have passed and I am in Santiago shopping for a present for my partner's birthday when I see a familiar sign - it's Norky's and they have come to Chile!! What a perfect present -- his favorite meal prepared by a restaurant he knows from back home.
The entrance on San Antonio is fairly tiny (if you're not looking you can miss it as you walk past), but as I made my way down the stairs, to my surprise, there was a large underground restaurant with flat screen TVs and an open kitchen. I ordered him his favorite 1/4 of pollo a la brasa served with french fries and a peruvian salad (prices are similar to Aji Seco) and I sat in a comfy waiting area until my order was promptly ready.
The chicken was just as good as it is in Peru. If you have a hankering for bbq chicken I definitely recommend trying Norky's. They also offer delivery and takeout. read more
