I have been a customer of Shoppers Drug Mart since 1988, I've always relied on their expertise felt…read morelike a valued person with their good customer service. Like my health mattered, not just $$ ; But now, it is different it is a complete turnaround where my health doesn't matter at all!! I have my medication on auto refill to keep things convenient & organized. Unfortunately, in the last few months, the Shoppers Drug Mart in Lakewood, Saskatoon, has made a dog's dinner of it all. My meds were due for refill but they didn't do it. I was ready to leave for vacation and had a huge issue trying to get it done before I left. one they didn't refill before I had to go. The response from the Pharmacist assistant to the issue was absolutely appalling!! Instead of apologizing for their error she said "we're very busy you know"!! I asked for the Pharmacist/owner to call me and he never did!! I don't know if he never received the message or just didn't care. Then the dates for refilled was all screwed up. I ended up having to pay because my insurance wouldn't some meds because the refills were now too close together!! What a total pain in the butt!! And again no apology!! So this last "auto" refill they took an old version of my prescription and ended up only giving me half of my epilepsy meds. When I called them i said "when I got me meds, one of meds had only 1/2 a months worth". She snottily asked "so what is your question" I said "my question is, where are the rest of my meds?" She blamed this on me and told me there was nothing she could do. That I would need to go back to my doctor. I told that I could see on my Shoppers online profile that the correct prescription was there. So she put me on hold and came back just as rude & said OK they would do the refill. I was heading out of town. They were supposed to deliver the meds before I left ... but no big shock ... they never delivered. I had to leave worn without these epilepsy meds, luckily there was enough to get through, So while I was aWay they felt a message that would have to call in with my credit card to pay for the meds. Again, no apology, just inconvenience and cost to me!! Shoppers Drug Mart used to mean quality service, but right now their Lakewood location on Harold Road in Saskatoon is the worse I have ever seen. They make good money on the thousands I have in meds ever month. I mean we are talking about epilepsy meds, not acne meds!! The risk of not having these is a major deal!! I have put up with a lot of crap lately without saying anything. Well now, if the pharmacist/owner can't be bothered to call & obviously not interested in dealing with his rude staff & their inconvenient screwups. Then my business is going somewhere else!!! Don't risk your health here! Find someplace/someone who cares about your health instead.

Actually zero stars, but it's not an option. I'm not spending one more dollar at Shoppers Drug…read moreMart! I can easily find places to shop for the same items, and not be harassed by pushy cashiers! In the past few months I've noticed that cashiers harass their customers to an extreme if you do not carry (or want to own) an Optimum card. I don't mind being asked once if I own one, or even if I'd like to have one, but they will not take NO! as an answer to a point of being extremely disrespectful. I have to say no at least 3 times, and I've since become way more assertive about it. I thought it was just a bad experience from one staff member on one occasion, but this has happened at multiple locations now, different cashiers on different days, so I'm taking my business elsewhere. I'm willing to bet the higher ups at Shoppers have recently trained staff to push the Optimum card or even give incentives for getting people to sign up. It's the world we live in for big corporations to track consumer spending habits, and perhaps the staff there are really naive and truly believe that it's all about saving consumers money, or perhaps they are just trained sheep! Even though this is why these cards exist... it's not my issue with signing up for an Optimum card. I just plain do not want one. My issue is that NO means NO, and they shouldn't go on and on with their reasons why I should have one, and how much money I'd save, and waste my time with various other reasons. Shoppers Drug Mart staff should really consider the quality of service they are providing because they may not have a job a year from now. Wonder why people are online shopping more and more these days? Reasons like this. It's easy to find another place to shop.
