This is based on a Sunday afternoon visit with free music on the terrace. It was very crowded, which would be fine but some of the locals acted like they own the place and we're a bit pushy. Also, the music was average. What they don't tell on the website is it's also karaoke And most of what I heard wasn't that special. If you visit Sunday, maybe go earlier to stake out a table. Even if I had a table in this instance, I don't think I would've stayed long because of the music. It was old time jazz, and a crowd leaning towards that age as well.

Super cool modern booking system for us foreigners: Order a ticket online, print it at home and they will easily grant you access. There's a good selection of drinks available at the bar - expensive of course as Norway simply always is. But it's worth going: small venue which allows you to watch the stage pretty well, alright acoustics and a funky crowd. As an additional plus the area around is handy for a pre-show drink, too. Nicely situated in the middle of town.

We saw SIX concerts on our recent European mega trip, all in different locations. And (as many of…read moreyou know), we love going to shows and have been to all kinds of concert halls and venues here in the States, but going to rooms abroad was super fun - and Sentrum Scene was our very favorite of the six venues we visited in Europe. Believe me when I say this is a SUPER cool room to see a show in!!!! OK so what makes it cool? The room just looks crazy cool. My husband and his friend rode the rail at this show, so they were right up front. But I don't like to be in the middle of the mosh pit, so I watched the show from the top of the balcony -- and I was treated to a most amazing visual spectacle. Lights in this room just look SICK. The ambiance is enhanced by these crazy round discs that are all over the walls and ceiling. The ones on the wall look like huge discs and the ones hanging from the ceiling look kind of like flying saucers. But when you add show lights to that, against the dark/black ceiling and it all just looks SUPER cool, especially if you are seeing a band with a lighting technician worth his or her salt. Acoustics in this room were also excellent (thank you to all those cool sound discs!) and having the option to be upstairs or down and still have a great view was really wonderful. Staff was generally pretty friendly and I have no complaints. Would love to come back sometime!

However after that the experience kinda sucked. This was my first standing room only concert and definitely my last. The room once we got inside was dirty with cups and straws and just trash everywhere and there wasn't even a lot of people in there to begin with! So no the amount of people in there could not have generated that trash. The drinks were expensive which ok I expected that--but they were gross! The Smirnoff ice I got for example just tasted off and old. The effects of the concert were ok, so they got to keep that star. The room in some spots had a bad smell so it made me wonder how thoroughly they clean this place. The bathrooms were no better. Overall I did not enjoy the venue. Won't be back.

It's one of the most…read morealternative bars I have been to in Oslo and I actually believed one can not find this type of bar here. I was wrong. The bar is cool and the people working there are super friendly. Good service and good vibes. The bar reminded me of copenhagen and it's hip areas so I loved it. Chill place, diverse people and rock/metal music. A bar for a chill beer. I would definitely go back.

So I walked inside (yes, admittedly breaking the no-smoking law) and approached the woman tending bar and asked her how I could get a beer. At this point we were both standing about three feet from the open door to the patio. Call me crazy, but I think she should have said, "Please step outside with the cigar, tell me what you want, and I'll hand it to you." Instead she sternly commanded me to leave immediately. Quite rudely. I was going to return later to hear a band but did not.

We speculated whether it had manifested from thin air just to suit our needs of the moment. Munnskjenk is actually the outdoor kitchen of the neighboring bar Himkok, and is open in the summer season. And no wonder Munnsjenk feels enchanted - I mean; where else in Oslo do you find an outdoor stage with live jazz, urban gardening, locally brewed cider, kombucha, raw cakes, great food, seating framed by greenery and a Saturday yard sale - all in the same place? I've tried the "all day brunch plate" (meze style plate with different delicious treats) and pulled beef with potatoes and brown sauce. Both were delicious - but maybe a bit over priced. This is a real pearl in the Oslo jungle, and I'm looking much forward to a new season with dry cider and live jazz.
