We arrived at the door shortly after 7:00 p.m., just as they opened. Asked if we had a reservation, we said "no," surveying the empty restaurant. The maître d' told us we could sit at a reserved table if we agreed to leave within two hours. Welcome to Italy and the spirit of the Slow Food movement. Within 30 to 45 minutes of our arrival, the restaurant was full, with a regular flow of people picking up pizzas to take home. Our meal -- two insalate and two pasta dishes with the house red wine -- was excellent: the lettuce crisp, the tomatoes perfectly ripe, the pasta al dente, the fresh bread crusty yet so soft on the inside, and the portions akin to American dishes. We avoided the temptation to have dessert, rather sampling the gelato from a local bar on the walk back to our apartment. If you're visiting Firenze and staying near the center of the city, Fratelli Briganti is worth the taxi ride. But make reservations, so you won't be disappointed.

I'll take It! Came in, no seating, UNLESS a reservation was made. The place was PACKED with local Italians (we could hear them speaking Tuscany laced Italian). Thankfully, the hostess offered to provide us with seating at the bar if we "would wait 10 minutes." While waiting, "here's a glass of Chardonnay on the House" (this must be customary in Florence, as several other restaurants offered this treat). It was worth the wait! The food, dessert, and wine pairings were AMAZING. The pasta, it's fresh truffle, and freshly ground beef were out of this WORLD! We asked our waiter if he could pair our meals with true Italian wine, his response: "I got you"...and boy did he. See pictures. If you're in Florence, come to this place; it's worth the 20 minute walk. Shout out to Miguel, Danny, and Alex -- you all were fabulous and added to the joy of being in Florence.

The women's bathroom is marked women's bathroom, and within that there are 2 women's individual "mini bathrooms" with their own doors and lock. The bathroom to the left has a hole drilled into the door. You can see right through the hole when you are on the toilet and from the outside there is raw wood. As in the hole was drilled from the outside of the stall. You can fully see into the "individual" bathroom from outside the locked door. I brought up this peephole concern to a bust boy/ worker. I said "I don't know who to tell this to but there is a peephole inside the women's bathroom". Skinny tall white, brown hair, glasses, nerdy looking. And he acted shocked and said he was going to take a look immediately. Which was odd because I spoke English and he barely spoke English. He then proceeded to continue washing the bar glasses for 15 more minutes while glancing at me to see if I was still there. And then left to continue his task. There were no female workers to discuss this with.
