They do a really good job of stocking hard to find tackle, camping gear, RV parts, and the kitchen sink. Since I live on my boat when I head to Homer, it's nice to have a pay shower place like this so close to my boat slip. The facilities are clean and include towels. There are a few RV sites that fill up very quickly and they are full hookups. Very charming old-school tackle shop.

First of all, this place is all the way in Homer, not in a large city where you can find a Cabelas or a Bass Pro shop, this place is God sent to the fisherman and outdoorsy folks of this town. You can practically construct a boat from scratch from their inventory. You can outfit a fisherman with the top quality gear here. The other reviewer said their prices are high...ok lets see it this way, try driving 5 hours to the closest largest city and then try finding the same brand for the same price. I am not giving an excuse for prices, because I have actually been to outdoor gear places in Anchorage and the prices are pretty similar. The gear Shed also has several items on sale that you cannot find anywhere else, you just have to look. I found Columbia reflective long johns at 1/4 price. So yes, I can see why people love this place, not only they carry professional grade gear, but the staff there knows their stuff.

Got my fishing license here for the year and even some great victorinox knives I've been searching for. They are the best everyday knives for the kitchen. It's a great store to stop in for some extra fishing/hunting supplies you may need while in Homer, Alaska and it's right next to a fish taco stand and some other neat shops and food stands.
