Terrible Communication and Unfulfilled Order 1 star…read more I had a frustrating experience with Davillier Photography. I placed an order on July 23, 2024, and waited weeks without any updates. I tried calling multiple times to follow up, but no one responded. When I finally got through in August because they reached out me by phone after several emails, they explained the lack of communication was due to an issue with their automated email system. But, by then, I felt I had been defrauded -- there was zero communication, and no product or service had been rendered. Prior this call, I decided not to proceed with my order which was stated in writing to the company and disputed the charge with my bank. I explained this to them in detail when finally getting a call by their owner, yet somehow they still told my bank that the purchase was valid, even though I received nothing. This charge still remains on my account while the company is refuting having received compensation. As of today, October 28, 2024, I have not received a refund and while I do not want any - nor have I received products or services. Terrible experience all around. I would definitely not recommend doing business with this company.

We cannot say enough good things about Red M Studio. From start to finish, working with Marianne &…read moreSteve was an incredible experience, and hiring them was one of the best decisions we made for our New Orleans "not a wedding" wedding. I found Red M Studio through a Reddit recommendation from another couple who loved their photos, and after seeing their work, I immediately understood why. We wanted to support a small business, loved their aesthetic, and knew we needed professionals who could capture something intimate and nontraditional without turning it into a production. Leading up to the day, Marianne & Steve were incredibly organized and thoughtful. We had both a phone call and a Zoom meeting where they walked through every detail to make sure nothing was missed. They even used Google Maps to virtually walk us through the French Quarter and talk through locations and timing. That level of preparation made us feel completely at ease. Our original plan was to elope, but as anyone who tries to elope in New Orleans learns, that rarely stays small. What unfolded was a joyful, intimate gathering we lovingly called our "not a wedding." Marianne & Steve captured every part of it beautifully, from exchanging vows privately in our hotel suite, to wandering the French Quarter on Halloween night, stopping at the Carousel Bar, befriending a very determined French Quarter cat, and ending the evening with a private dinner at Arnaud's surrounded by our favorite people. They truly understood the assignment. The photos feel authentic, emotional, and perfectly us. Nothing felt staged or forced, and we never once felt uncomfortable or overly "on display." The final gallery tells the story of the day exactly as it was: warm, a little spooky, deeply personal, and full of love. If you're getting married in New Orleans and want photographers who are professional, intuitive, and genuinely invested in telling your story, Red M Studio is exceptional. We will treasure these photos forever.

Three days prior to the wedding she had someone else text me that she couldn't make it due to a hip surgery, even though I talked to her a week prior and she acted like she would be there. I reached out to Heather to voice my concerns and she had an excuse for just about everything so I left it at that. Aside from the two photographers that did show up, were kind, and did a great job, the company's management style, including editing and album design felt depersonalized, half-assed and shady. I definitely got the vibe that as a New Orleans client I wasn't a priority and was more of a money grab now that Heather and Jaime have moved to Houston.

We were incredibly disappointed with our entire experience with Dark Roux. While we did get some…read morevery nice photos, overall we felt that we did not get the product advertised. We spent almost $5000 for about 480 pictures (for 2 photographers and a 7-hour session) that, in our opinion, did not come close to resembling the quality of the photos advertised. There is a whole story here of what we went through with the company, our credit card company, and the accusations by this company on their social media regarding our experience-however, it's not worth going into it. For any couple looking to hire a wedding photographer, I would highly recommend asking to view the ENTIRE portfolio from any company's most recent wedding before making your decision to hire someone for this very important day. If you want to see our wedding portfolio from this company, ask for the Nichols wedding from March 2020-make sure you get the whole set (again, about 480 photos). We posted a few of the many photos we received from Dark Roux that we feel were unusable below.
