We happened to be there at the peak of summer and the hottest day of the year. Temp was 100 Fahrenheit. We dock in Bodrum port and walked through the street filled with local food venders from sweets to savories.
And from there we continued on to Mausoleum of Halicarnassus about an hour. At this point we're exhausted from the heat (yes we had umbrellas, electric handheld fans and water)
And it was on our way the waiter flagged us to sit and enjoyed iced cold beer. It was refreshing! Much needed to cool ourselves down from the heat. Mostly outdoor seating with wall fan misting in the air for a bit of cool breeze as you dine.
We order their small plate of lamb to share. The beer helps dilute the salt in the meat a bit. Pickle veggies were good, it came with rice and flat bread to wrap. It's a little expensive compare to a few stall down the street.
Live and learn. Don't always go for the first thing you see. Shop around a bit and enjoy. read more
