So don't be turned off by the name! This is a great place to shop for a man of any style - you can get some great basics like jeans and plain tees, but then also head down the relaxed-surfer-skater path if you choose. I love all the sunnies that they stock in the window and while this is specifically a store for men, I have purchased a few pairs in my time. Perfect for that sunny day at a festival. The staff are lovely and are happy to let you browse around and the prices are very reasonable.

Coming from the UK, shopping here is akin to shopping at TK Maxx. There are lines and lines of racks and there is treasure to be found in amongst the rest of the very run of the mill stuff. You could easily spend a good half an hour looking for bargains here. There are huge discounts and if you endure it will be well worth your search.

Stocking brands such as Dangerfield, Friends of Couture, Jack London, Revival and more you will not be short of options for something new to add to your wardrobe. I actually come here once a week, its that cheap. Singlets - 2 for $10, Shirts from $10, pricing is ridiculous here! My favourite purchases include a 3 / 4 long Dangerfield coat, originally $250, i scored it for $75. Even picked up a Jack London business shirt for $10!!! So fellas if you want some new kicks or clothes pay Clear It a visit and while you shop, the Clear It women's store is just a few shops up.

You buy a t-shirt with an astronaut holding a boom box, you're probably not that keen on either astornauts OR boom boxes. But if you buy a t-shirt with a New Order album cover on, it's probably because you like New Order (okay, or because you want to be seen as the type of person who likes New Order). That kind of principle applies to most of what OTC sells. Whether it's good or not, whether it's cheap or not, none of it seems to be trading on aspirational branding. These are clothes to wear or to look good in, not to show how hooked into the cultural superstructure you are. They offer a mix of vintage and new clothes, and some of it can be a little pricey, but I'd still rather this than the manufactured white noise most places seem to sell these days.

Their range of leather and denim jackets is pretty decent, plus some men's tweed suits which I tried to see if I could pull off, but the fit wasn't right. I did end up with a very cute navy and white pleated skirt that is reminiscent of the skirt Ann Reinking wears in the 'let's go to the movies' song scene of the 1982 film Annie. Let's just say the way that pleated skirt moved while she danced has stuck with me, so I'm beyond stoked to have my own similar number to wear now.

The clothes at Somewhere are sleek, simple, and very on trend. The menswear section is mostly stocked with jeans, chinos, plaid shirts and pocketed t's. Somewhere also has a very decent selection of shoes and accessories, like hats, ties, sunglasses and scarves. The staff are great (helpful and attentive, but genuine with their recommendations and not pushy).

They sort the clothing by gender and type of clothing, with regular ongoing sales on certain items. The prices were quite fair for the selection and quality of stuff they have. The shop is located along the iconic Chapel Street, where there's lots of weird vintage shops and eclectic clothing shops, so I figured this would be a good place to scope out some weird clothes. Storehouse didn't disappoint! They had ugly Christmas sweaters on display, and all kinds of old stuff. They not only sell clothes, but have plates, dishes, cups, bowls, and some cookware. They've got a good selection of old books at cheap prices, so if you leave the book on the train, it's not a big deal. The staff was on the ball, running the register and answering questions.

My one Curve Vintage qualm? It feels as if the place is never open. But InStyle - which ranks it amongst Victoria's best vintage boutiques - assures me that this is because Curve is open for the abbreviated hours of midday until 6pm from Tuesday to Saturday much like many of the exclusive little boutiques dotted along Gertrude. I spend most of my time on the other side of the store buried amongst the women's wear. During the winter months I would stock up on boots and the warmer dresses that I could easily wear with tights. When I visited last time there were some gorgeous summer dresses and shorts perfect for the hot weather. The prices are quite high but I honestly don't mind paying. The staff are very helpful and dressed to perfection, so feel free to steal some of their style notes. I admire a man that puts effort in to his appearance and these boys clearly do!
