YUM! Everything I've eaten here has been delicious. Basic, classic Italian food, with some tasty twists and a good variety even for a small restaurant with limited seating and a tiny kitchen. In my opinion, this stands up to every other restaurant in the area, even the super-trendy-popular Italian options.
I've had lunch and dinner here. Lunch has some amazing deals on offer, including hearty servings of pasta for around $10. Dinner portions are larger and run between $14-$20 for pasta mains and more for meats. (My gnocchi dinner main was so large I couldn't even finish it). Starters include a range of salads, bruschettas, and other treats starting at $5. There are also daily specials, typically one bruschetta special, one pasta special, one risotto special, one meat special.
The chalkboard menu on the wall is charming but for those who aren't in view or don't want to crane their neck, there's clipboards with pages to flip through too. There seems to be a good selection of wines also at reasonable prices (of course, reasonable is relative for non-BYO wine list prices, but you know what I mean...not the excessively ridiculous mark ups to 400% or more which some places would charge). Limited seating extends from the main dining room out to an uncovered patio area for those who prefer to dine al fresco.
You can tell this place puts a lot of love into the food, and I particularly loved the homemade gnocchi, as well as the freshly pickled cabbage on the bruschetta at our dinner meal. The flavors are simple and clean but there's enough variety to keep things interesting, especially given the unique daily offerings. Service is friendly and quick, depending on how full the restaurant is, and they are happy to keep refilling your bread basket. What more could you want from a meal? read more
