What I like most about Coach Walker is he has pushes me to limits I did not know I was capable of. He makes the class fun by singing, dancing, and laughing. Laughter helps the class go by fast. Coach Walker started coaching at Beachwood on my first ever class. When he announced he was leaving you can see the disappointment and sadness on the members' faces (I know I was disappointed). I don't understand how you can move a coach from his "home" studio for the past 2 years to a new studio and put a brand-new coach in his place. This has put a bad taste in my mouth. I don't even want to come to the Beachwood studio because he is not there. This is a bad move on OTF's part. Coach Walker has built a huge following and a trustworthy clientele. I usually drive on over early in the mornings before the gym gets packed. Trust me, I've been there in the evenings and it's almost impossible to get anything done. As soon as you open the door the moisture of sweat and wafting body odor greets you. Theres a scramble to get to the machine you wanna use and likely a wait for all others. Avoid this place in the evenings ! So anyway back to my awesome mornings .. There's usually a smiling face behind the counter to scan your key card. I don't use the lockers anymore but the locker rooms are usually pretty clean! The women's room is by the fleet of cardio machines near the mall entrance. Since I'm on the topic of cardio I must rave about the ARC TRAINER - I haven't been able to find them at any other gym but you can burn 1000 calories in an hour on that thing EASILY. It's my favorite cardio machine! I love the separate rooms they have like the full body circuit (that also includes a step aerobics station with a program from the "Biggest Loser"), the abdominal circuit and lastly a room for stretching and ab training. If you need something quick and effective - visit one of these rooms! They also offer tanning and hydro massage to members with black cards. I haven't used either of them yet though I hear great things. They also offer some group sessions (about 5 people) where the trainers will show you around and give you a few routines to do. It's definitely worth the membership. Spend $20/mo for the black card and bring one of your friends with you sometimes for a little extra competition! If all you need is the tools for fitness, bring your own drive and PF has got your back!
