Ordered delivery by phone, the phone call was less than 2 minutes- she got angry at me for asking questions, I'm from out of state obviously I don't know much about the food options because a lot of Chinese restaurants are different .... she didn't give me a price , or how long just said thank u and hung up. Delivery guy was rude- took a whole hour for them to show up and it was half a mile away... food isn't hot and he claimed he didn't have change. There was no AC, no music, no fish in the aquarium, no table service, plastic silverware only, no ice for drinks, no paper towels in ladies room, food arrived in take out container. Finally No.1 Kitchen has come to Huntington East! I'm a fan of No. 1 Kitchen in West Huntington and was quite happy to find they opended a new location, which is about 5 minutes drive from my apartment. Same great food, same cost. The difference between West and East is like the difference between an "A" and an "A+." The new location is more of a restauraunt than a take-outl ocation that has a few tables for on-site eating. Here, dining is more of the focus as there is at least twice as many tables, more waiters, more decoration etc. etc. Both locations are good, this done is just slightly better as it is in a more restauraunt-friendly building. If you live in Huntington East, there is no point going to the West location. If you live in Huntington West, you might consider at least checking out the new location, especially if your a fan. read more

My boyfriend and I had dinner from No. 1 Kitchen delivered to our house a few hours ago. Starving, we dug into our food not even taking a break to breathe. About halfway through our meal, my boyfriend discovered a foreign object in his food. A Band-Aid. A USED Band-Aid. I was so disgusted I couldn't even eat my own food, afraid that it was also tainted. We called the restaurant and all we got was an "I'm sorry". After about five minutes, the woman who answered the phone told us the owner was going to give us a call. He called and insisted on seeing the Band-Aid in the Singapore Mei Fun, so we ended up driving to the restaurant with our food. The owner wasn't there (go figure), but we got our $20 back. Should be called "No One Kitchen" because no one should waste their money here. Ordered for delivery: Pinapple chicken (requested extra crispy,) fried dumplings, crab rangoon. Total cost was around $15. The fried rice that came with the chicken was fine. The dumplings were fine. The rest was revolting. The rangoon is the triangle style, not the little neatly tied up at the top style. It was 90% fried wrap, 10% actual cream cheese and crab filling. The chicken was revolting. I threw more than half into the trash. Most of the pieces seemed more like gristle and breading than actual chicken. I would never order here again. read more

I wrote a review of China One in Barboursville a month ago, stating that I had found my new favorite take-out Chinese since moving back to the Huntington area. China One is still my favorite, but I wanted to check out No. 1 Kitchen on Route 60 for comparison: Both offer eat-in dining with a few tables. Prices are about the same. No. 1 Kitchen offers more dishes. China One's menu is simpler, making it easier for me to order. China One -- take out only, but it's fast. I call, order, head out, and it's hot and ready by the time I get there. No. 1 Kitchen -- take out AND free delivery available. We waited 45 minutes for our order to arrive, but I think that's a small price to pay for the convenience of delivery ($10 minimum order). China One -- yummiest crab rangoons, moo shu, and chow mai fun, which are my favorite Chinese dishes. And when I want to split/share with my vegetarian spouse, they are offered vegetarian style which are just as delicious. No. 1 Kitchen -- the crab rangoons weren't as light and fluffy as China One's, and the moo shu and chow mai fun weren't as seasoned and tasty as China One's. But the food was good, and, upon request, No. 1 Kitchen made vegetarian moo shu even though it wasn't on the menu. Overall, I think China One's food tastes better, but No. 1 Kitchen's food is good too with the added convenience of free delivery when you can't or don't want to go pick up your order. read more

I'm really surprised at the bad reviews here. We have had food delivered several times from here and it has always been good. (Tried several different dishes) They have been very obliging as far as leaving out Broccoli for me, as I hate the stuff, and have added extra meat to make up for it. It makes me sad to leave this review because my family and I have eaten here many times in the past and enjoyed it however after what occurred earlier today I dont think I can ever go back. We went in for lunch earlier today and while we were there my dad mentioned that when he was in the bathroom he saw apron strings hanging down in the stall next to him. We were really hoping he was wrong but a few minutes later we saw the guy walk out of the bathroom still wearing his apron and then walk into the kitchen to start cooking food! So basically this guy took a dump in the bathroom while wearing the apron that he cooks everyone's food in, I knew this place was going downhill but this was the last straw. Honestly disappointed with this place tonight. I NEVER write reviews but the woman at the counter who takes orders was VERY rude to me when I went in to get my food a second time after they had messed it up the first time. I politely told her that my order was messed up and she wouldn't even apologize and just snatched my debit card away from me! I have eaten here quite a bit and some chicken dishes are sometimes questionable. I suggest that this is a great place to get lunch and sweet and sour chicken is good with rice or lo mein. Stay away from chicken dishes that come with sauce already on them like general or pineapple. I think they use poorer quality chicken in them. read more

Called, and was told that they don't collect it using a secure transaction system. I "needed to be creative and send it in a note." Delivery order: Ordering experience was not the greatest. Lady was short and to the point but at least they got the order correct. Delivery was within 40 mins on a Saturday evening so that was acceptable. Food....was pretty bad. I always get same thing - Shrimp fried rice and my husband gets Generals Chicken. I've only ordered from this location once and the food was good all but the fried rice. My fried rice was over cooked or something I'm not too sure how to describe it. The location on the west end is by far my favorite and have driven by this location to go to the one on west end since I've never been disappointed with food from there. I've never had an unpleasant experience from this location. When dining in, the place is always clean and the service is great. I just tried the delivery for the first time, and I am quite impressed. They offer online orders, although after placing your order they have to call you to take any credit info. Delivery was fast, taking less than an hour from ordering to delivery. All of the food was hot and fresh. My only complaint is that I requested my Szechuan-style Bean Curd to be extra spicy, but it isn't spicy at all. I AM NOT MAKING THIS STORY UP- It's New Year's Eve and my fiance and I want to order delivery-So we do, they tell us 31 something as our total and my fiance immediately receives a text saying she was charged 38 something- We call and they tell us that they're not the bank and the dude was very rude and he hung up, when our order comes my fiance is missing her eggrolls, now she's livid, AFTER ANOTHER CALL they tell us to come down to the store with evidence- so we do. While we're in the store the dude who was rude to us kept interrupting us and then when the Chinese manager finally calmed him down HE BEGAN WAVING HIS ARMS AROUND LIKE A LUNATIC AND MUMBLING TO HIMSELF! I asked him "Are you putting a curse on me?" To which he replied in a straight face, "yes I am"- I gave him a sarcastic thumbs up and he keeps being rude and the manager keeps fighting us like we'd make up this story and ruin our own New Years Eve over this!!!! We've been ordering from No. 1 Kitchen for over two years now and have been satisfied with the price, food and quick delivery (it also helps that we live less than 2 miles down the road from the restaurant.) My concern is the customer service provided when we've had to call in to complete an online order with a credit card number. The lady who answers the phone is sweet but the language barrier has created some uncomfortable situations. Tonight, she couldn't understand my credit card numbers and order details. Not only did she almost charge someone else's order to my card, she couldn't understand my card number, tried to run it through with transposed numbers causing my credit card company to call me to verify security. She called me back because obviously it wasn't going through. I gave her the number one more time and she proceeded to repeat it out loud and, at that point, I asked her to stop. If they are going to offer online orders to be paid for by credit cards, they need to step up on the safety. Also, the poor delivery guy was given my street name and not my house #. He had to call me to tell me he was on my street and to ask me where my house was located. All that info is provided on the online order form and included in my order confirmation number so I don't know why the driver doesn't have it. read more
