There are several complains I have about this office and if it weren't for Dr Minkus, I'd be looking for a new pediatrician. We saw Doctor Swislow for my baby's cold. She came down quite badly. After she started to get better, she seemed to get worse again - so we went back in . He looked hat her and all he said was Bad cold, that's all. He looked at her ears, her throat, and listened to her lungs but would not say a word about it. When I asked him about the condition, he would not really answer. I was concerned about secondary infections and how long it might still take for her to get better. He would not really say anything to that either. I am a new mom with a 11 week old baby and worry a lot. I received no assurance or guidance. He was just in and out as if in a hurry. Also I don't think I should have to remind a doctor to wash his hands before touching my baby. Won't see him again

BEING CHARGED FOR MEDICAL RECORDS IS A HIPAA VIOLATION. Anyone who has paid for medical records,…read moreshould know this is against the law. The P in HIPAA stands for "portability." At it's core HIPAA is NOT a privacy law as it is most commonly understood, but is actually a portability law. It grants you the right to take your records from place to place without being charged. Oak Mill charged my husband $25 per child (we have 3) for our records. The office is required to give you an electronic copy FREE OF CHARGE. If the provider only maintains paper records you can be charged up to $6.50 for labor. If the doctors records are electronic you cannot be charged whether you request an electronic or paper copy. We asked for our money back, but they would not refund us. Unfortunately we will be reporting the violation to HHS. Beyond this experience, my husband was turned away to be seen as a walkin for my son who was in need of a refill prescription (his medication requires hand written prescriptions). Because of their limited office hours of every other Saturday and being turned away on Monday, my son was not able to have the medication he needed for 4 days and we had to call him out of school so he could have an appointment the following day. This impacted our entire weekends plans and affected his normal school schedule. This practice is not patient centered, and I'm so glad our insurance has changed so we can go back to our prior doctor. I'm very disappointed.

My son actually had the same doctor that I had growing up for the first two years of his life. I was very sad to see her retire but not worried about finding a new doctor within the practice. We have been seeing Dr. Waterman for the last 3 years and now she sees my baby girl. She is so helpful and personable. She is very knowledgable and listens to all the questions that you can come up with. The new office expansion is great. It allows for extra rooms and they have enough toys and books in the waiting room that we actually stay after our appointments to play. But we are never waiting for more than a few minutes to be called back to our room. The nurses are fantastic. They are kind, patient and thorough. We all know it can be a whirlwind with kids but they always handle everything so smoothly. The nurses are very helpful over the phone and relay messages to the doctors in an appropriate time frame. Two generations have been going to this practice so it should be obvious that the doctors and the nurses are phenomenal. I would recommend this practice to anyone that wants to have a stress free and enjoyable doctor experience for their family.

Dr. Rappaport and her assistant, Beth, have refined the drudgery of taking a kid to the pediatrician's office by cultivating a relaxed, welcoming, and warm office setting. That approach is central to their patient care. Whether it's for a yearly check-up or a sick visit--the high standards are the same. I believe Beth typically says, "when can you come in?" It's unusual in any business, let alone medicine, to find someone who looks to accommodate my schedule. Once we are there, both Beth and Dr. Rappaport take the time to listen to our concerns. They are in no hurry; I never feel rushed or flustered that I haven't had all of my questions answered. The care is exceptional. Dr. Rappaport has a common-sense approach and impeccable medical knowledge. She's never alarming, always measured, and extremely compassionate. It's clear she is not just a doctor, but also a mother, who relates easily to her patients and their parents. In addition, she has built a marvelous rapport with my boys. She has cared for them since they were toddlers--they are now very active 8 year old twins. She's as thorough with their physical exam as she is with their mental well being; dealing with topics such as bullying. She gives them (and us) clear-cut, age appropriate advise on how to deal with it. I don't typically write reviews, but I was compelled to do so in this case. This is a different style of medicine than I have ever experienced. I'm so grateful to be a part of it, and I believe it's worth letting others know that the run to the pediatrician's office doesn't have to be a frantic, impersonal, or harried experience.
