If you don't like what they've got prepared, they'll make you something else! They do a loyalty card as well, so you can earn yourself a free coffee if you go there enough. Possibly my only criticism is that is a little small so you sometimes struggle to get seating when its busy, but that just shows how popular it is!

They had quite a few staff around in the kitchen including the chef, which alone is unusual, I assume there will be fewer staff once they have been running for a few weeks. I had a roasted red onion and blue cheese tart and it arrived with the freshest of salad and watercress and with a heap of cous cous with butternut squash. It was delicious. We also tried some of their cake and my carrot cake was excellent. I'm definitely going back there and I'll update the review once it's been running for a few weeks.

Now on to the incredibly unfortunate part: My breakfast. I ordered the Lebanese breakfast plate, which is avocado toast zhuzh'd up with hummus, fresh cream, feta, eggs, and purple cabbage (yes, the addition of this brassica should have been a red flag). What I got was a cute turquoise plate with a mound of what was my order covered in bright pink sludge masquerading as hummus. I'm guessing the chef thought that pink hummus would be an inventive choice against the plate color? Aside from the color, the taste was horrific and most-definitely not homemade. Hummus is at its core essence a 4-ingredient situation (chick peas, water, tahini, lemon juice) but this tasted like only the first two items were used). Underneath my "hummus" was a shed load of boiled cabbage and the lightest of smatterings of old brown avocado which tasted like avocado when it's gone brown and should, therefore, be binned. With just half an hour to spare before it closed (it's only open till 3pm) we sped to the restaurant to find it bustling with customers. The menu is extensive with what must be around 50 items including a specials menu and loads of veggie options. I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich (£6.50) which was dripping with a ridiculous amount cheese. The order also came with a pot of slightly salty tomato soup to dip the sandwich in. Overall the breakfast club has amazing hangover food in a homely environment. Portion sizes are huuuuge too!

Walking there on a rainy day (a regular day I should say), I was looking for a place to coffee-wifi-work my day. Went to starbucks first, that is the kind of place you are sure of, to check if it was busy. And because it was not, I went to check this place: cafe Nero. Huge chain, they are all over the city. The feeling was quite different than starbucks. Way more homey, cosy, with chairs, arms chairs, seats everywhere, a better vibe, free wifi also, and same selection of food available. After waiting a little to get everything served because of rush hour time I suppose, got my things and went upstairs to set up shop. Wifi access is simple, views of the street, enough space, quiet. Everything you need to work a few hours. Recommend it over Starbucks if in the area.
