Having recently relocated to the Vacaville system, I found myself in desperate need of a last-minute trim, only to find my usual barber outpost completely locked down. With hope fading faster than a ship dropping into hyperspace, I sent a transmission to Town Square Barbers. A Jedi Master of the shears named Ryan answered the call and agreed to fit me into his cut schedule. Upon entering the establishment, I didn't find a wretched hive of scum and villainy, but rather a warm, lively cantina atmosphere. Young padawans and elder Jedi masters alike were filling the chairs, creating a vibrant, community vibe that instantly made me feel right at home. A few operational notes for fellow travelers: The Credits: They strictly accept cold, hard republic credits (cash only). However, you won't need to hire a bounty hunter to find some--they have an ATM built right into the shop's console so you don't have to wander out into the dune sea. Starship Parking: Navigating the local asteroid field to find a parking spot was a bit of a challenge, but I successfully navigated the coordinates and touched down right on time for my appointment. As for the final result? Ryan utilized his clippers with the absolute precision of a lightsaber. The cut is incredibly fresh, clean, and exactly what I was looking for. I normally have what is called a circular beard, what people usually (and incorrectly) call mustache and goatee. My mustache and beard are connected, while mustache and goatee are not (thus the word "and"). Tim preserved the beard perfectly while shaving the rest of my face exactly as I specified, and well beyond the quality of any previous shave in my life. He and the other personnel in the shop were also incredibly nice and polite; a very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. A shave here is not inexpensive, but it is definitely a "royal" experience, both in manner in which I was treated and the results. While I couldn't afford it regularly, this shave is splurge worthy for special occasions.

The time previously that we got his haircut at this location his bangs did not "connect" smoothly to his face on the sides and so I asked his hairstylist if she could fix it. She cut some more off of the corners of his face and it looked better but still was not "professional" work. This time he was getting a bit of a different hair style, going from more of a faux hawk mullet to a medium fade in the back and bangs that were just out of his eyes. I booked in advance Ashleigh because she was the most selected stylist at this location so I thought it was safe to assume that his haircut was secure. We waited for 2-3 hours for our "appointment" with Ashleigh before we showed up, checked in, and then waited another hour. Eventually, someone called us back and I am skeptical that this was the same lady that messed my son's hair up last time as she looked familiar and was working in the same spot. She looked nothing like Ashleigh from the picture on the app but I didn't want to assume she wasn't because she wasn't wearing any makeup and Ashleigh in her photo is wearing pretty heavy looking makeup. I didn't want to be rude. In hindsight I should have said something at that time questioning why it wasn't Ashleigh that was calling us back when I'd been waiting hours for her. Anyways, I show this lady 2 reference photos and describe what my son wants for his haircut. A medium fade in the back and bangs that are just out of his eyes. She then asked if I want his side burns faded as well of just shaped. I didn't understand because typically the side burns will match the height of the fade unless it's a man with a thick beard or something maybe. So I told her to fade his side burns as well with the fade. Seemed like we were all on the same page. I go to the waiting area like normal. Waited a LONG time. It was probably a good 45 minutes. My son walks around the corner to get his towel and shampoo treatment and I just started balling. I had to leave and hide in the car until my husband paid and came out with him. I needed time to calm down because I didn't want to complain and make him feel self conscious about his hair that he is stuck with for a while. That lady messed up my son's hair... BAD. I am writing this review because my son has been miserable for the past 2 days because of this haircut. He is 6 and has been hiding behind hats and hoodies because of how ugly he feels. I have NEVER seen him like this. And I have only been telling him how much I love the haircut and how good it must feel. This is honestly UNACCEPTABLE. There is just no way you can mess it up so bad and give someone something completely different than what they asked for which is a pretty popular cut. Should be easy work. My son gets his haircut often and is not hard to handle with haircuts. He is actually VERY good when he gets his haircut. I am just so disappointed. I hope that the lady that called us when she shouldn't have and that screwed up my sons hair twice because I believe it was the same lady, doesn't touch peoples hair with a ten foot pole.
