In the 8 months that I have been working with Heather, I have never seen or felt this kind of growth in my entire life. She has helped me work through past, present, and future stressors, and create healthy communication habits and coping mechanisms. Heather has an easy-going personality, and an incredible way of making you feel comfortable talking about the most difficult things. She allows you to be as vulnerable and open as you'd like to be, and still manages to find ways to gently challenge you to further your expression and growth. She is certified in different types of therapy including couples counseling, talk therapy, and EMDR. (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing -- If she thinks you're a good candidate for it, just do it. Seriously.) If I had known THIS is what therapy could be, I would have started a long time ago. However, I'm so grateful to have started when I did with Heather. I would (and do) refer her to anyone I meet that is interested in therapy, especially those who are on the fence about beginning their healing/therapeutic journey.

Heather has excellent experience in working with many different issues - and has a special talent for working with children. Heather is a gift to all who have met her!

You really get a sense that she cares about you as a person, not just a client. Jill introduced me to QPRX therapy, which FINALLY got lingering emotions that had been weighing me down off my back! It's very difficult for me to ever admit I need help. I can also be overly critical, but I have discovered my sessions with Michele to not only make me more productive in the bigger picture but most importantly, more well-balanced in home and work life. I saw her for a period of time 2 years ago and then because of my schedule and her location, I had to disappointedly stop. Then Covid happened and I reached out hoping she was doing telehealth. And she is! Nothing is more convenient than not having to drive somewhere. I look forward to my weekly FaceTime Sessions with her. She continues to help me as I pivot to adjust to each new life event. At this point, I consider her sessions to be a must-have even if everything were going well. She is the perfect blend of genuine caring, firm accountability, and insightful questions. Highly recommend her to anyone thinking about therapy.

The timing made it very difficult to find an experienced therapist. Most I contacted were busy and not taking new clients, many didn't even return calls. I looked for six months, trying the newer young psychologists available with disappointing results. I finally found Dr. Carlson online and liked his website. He was the last one I was going to try before giving up. He probably wasn't seeking new clients at the time, but responded, was compassionate and agreed to see me. He's a Ph.D psychologist with decades of experience and was nice enough to discuss my situation and needs beforehand. And he WOULD see clients in person when the restrictions lifted. I found Dr. Carlson to be an open, pragmatic therapist who is easy to be around and talk to. He works to really individualize his modality and treatment to the client and included me in the plan. He gets me, gives me the benefit of the doubt, and I can be real and honest without having to worry about being shamed. He restored my trust in therapists and the therapeutic experience. With the work we've done Ive experienced healing and my depression has lifted. I'm more at peace and less of a tortured soul.
