Well spaced out and stock was clear and organized. My girlfriends after a wig so ive seen a few of these places and im starting to wonder how they could do things differently. It hit me in this one: Customer Service. Out of all the shops we've been in this might be the first one with a shop keeper to ask what we were looking for an engage in a conversation. Made all the difference. Still no wig though.

I went in to have a look at the wigs. The lady in store was quite friendly and helpful but they didn't have what I was after. There are all kinds of hair products and many colours and styles of wig. They also sell oil burners, which you an smell as you enter the store.

I don't usually purchase many cosmetics i.e. make-up items like foundation but I do love things like lipstick and nail varnish- and Beauty Queen Cosmetics offers a range of beauty products and hair products. I normally go to Beauty Queen on Soho Road for lipstick and nail polish, especially as they sell brands like Sleek which has only just started appearing in a couple of the mainstream cosmetic shops. For black women, it's sometimes really difficult to get beauty products for your skin or lipsticks that stand out on your complexion. This store is always pretty busy; it's the only one on Soho Road. One slight criticism I would say is that sometimes the staff can be a little too in your face, trying to get you to buy products. I wish sometimes they'd just give you some time to have a look in peace and then you'd have a better idea of what you want. When I went in the store last week, I ended up walking out and didn't buy anything because I felt too pressured.

The number of hair extensions, wigs and gels here is extraordinary. This is more of a ladies shop however there are some hair products in here specifically for men. There are also deodorants you can purchase and the prices of products I have to say are definitely affordable. If you are looking for variety in hair extensions and wigs, this is the place to visit in my view. Although this is a big shop, the passageways here are very narrow and there were times where I struggled to get past fellow customers. Considering this is a shop that specialises in cosmetics and is targeted at predominately females, I was surprised to see the majority of staff working here are male. But despite this they do know their stuff. Customer service is second to none and they will help you out.

The shop is massive and shiny and everything looks new and wonderful. As well as wigs, both synthetic and human hair, they have extensions a plenty and many other products like hair dyes, pomades, scarves, shampoos and whole shelf of treatment oils which are as little as a couple of quid for a pretty big bottle. I couldn't possibly list all the products they sell as this shop is rammed. The staff are polite and happy to help and I definitely recommend popping in for a look.

It's virtually impossible to buy hair removal wax tubs from the High Street stores but I found it here for just £5! And they have a choice between lavender, aloe vera and pink wax. I also found that St Ives face scrub (which is the guru of my skincare regime!) is a lot cheaper here than elsewhere. They have a random selection of cheap cosmetics that tend to be in retro shades - Pat Butcher from Eastenders comes to mind! Although some of their eye-shadows and nail varnishes are interesting because bright colours are trending. Oddly enough, towards the back of the shop there is a post office so you can get your postal needs as well as grooming products under one roof!

They seem to specialise in afro-hair products and hair extensions in all varieties. I don't think I've seen that much fake hair under one roof but on the plus side you can find extensions which match to all different hair types. I didn't get a friendly vibe off the people serving, they didn't say hello and just seemed to stare at me. It doesn't make for comfortable browsing. Things which caught my eye were hair mayonnaise (how strange!), tubs of styling gel as big as my face and a big selection of fake eyelashes (something I do occasionally wear on nights out). The wigs also looked pretty cool, but I think they were all for serious wig-wearers rather than me who would spend no more than a fiver on a comedy wig.

I'm not a big make up wearer and anything I do buy I always purchase from Boots and stack up my Advantage points. However, and lipstick is the only item I won't leave the house without. So just in passing, I noticed they had my favourite brand of stay-put lipstick, Maybelline. Although, what they were selling are samples; these are the short versions of the lipsticks you try in standard shops, without the top coat. Unfortunately you cannot try before you buy but I did purchase some as they are 3 for £5 rather than £9 each in Boots. I don't think I would buy before trying so will stick with Boots but for all you make-up geeks out there, you will love this place of bargains!

They have a huge range of wigs and extensions that can be bought and woven in on site or to take away. I personally don't go there for the extensions or on site eyebrow threading but I've been in there before a big weekend when the place is packed full of women colour matching. I go to Juliet's for crazy colour hair dye. Apart from on the Soho road you won't find it cheaper. My hairdresser has tried to stock it in her salon and can't get it in as cheap as Juliet's. I wasn't that impressed with the customer service here and, although they did have quite a few wigs, they had nothing ginger and nothing small. We asked if we could look at the catalogue but the bored looking, male assistant was hesitant to let us. The wig catalogue was in fact a double sided print on A4 and not quite what we were hoping for. We then noticed a sign saying 'Wig Boutique Downstairs' but when we enquired we were told flat out that we couldn't go down there; Not even so much as an excuse. Man, these guys really want to sell wigs! My friend then enquired about the price of a wig in human hair. The assistant pointed to some hair extensions instead of wigs because he wasn't listening to her even though I'm pretty sure we were the only 2 customers in the shop. All in all I'd say if you are after some products for afro hair or a wig which isn't ginger or smaller than average then you might find what you are looking for here. They do have about 50 wigs in store. But if you are a bit shy to ask for help then don't bother coming here as this particular man wasn't the most approachable or helpful.
