Please excuse all the other bumps and scars. Totally not related! Dance is no joke on the body
Valerie B.

I'm a professional contemporary modern dancer and I've been dancing my whole life. I've had a torn meniscus that's been bothering me for at least two years. Dr. Ninh cleaned up my knee and I have to thank him for the incredible job he did. The incision marks are small and clean and I don't anticipate any issues with them. But most importantly, I'm able to do the simple things with my knee that I haven't been able to do for years. I'm filled with gratitude for him taking such great care of me and allowing me to continue my life of dance. Thank you from the bottom of my heart

Hand post-op / 2 weeks after Carpal tunnel release
Melissa P.

I read most of the other reviews before posting mine, and I must say, I had a very great experience here. The biggest downfall this office has is the wait time, but compared to another orthopedic office I went too (which was awful, by the way), the wait time seemed pretty aligned with how many patients go to see an orthopedic doctor. Mind you, some people can have very in-depth issues and I appreciate that they took the time to explain things to me and communicate and made me feel like a person and not just a number in line. You'll most likely only see the doctor/surgeon for your first appointment and surgery as he splits his time between two offices, as well as days performing surgeries. Thai was the PA I worked with and he is very kind and has a positive personality. I really like the front office staff, they are polite and also communicative, respectful and helpful. Doctor Ninh performed a carpal tunnel release on me as an outpatient surgery and I've been healing great and thus far, have minimal scarring. I'll be retuning to this office in the future for my other hand and any other needs I may have for orthopedics. Highly like and recommend!

Kicking butt again!! Thx to Dr Ninh and his wonderful team!!

Other drs deflect and tell her to try to lose weight Great team that gave wonderful instructions on how to care after surgery and checkup. My mom might be an outlier, but she was walking almost like a normal person within a month. She went down from 167lbs to 159lbs and grew and extra few inches.

I was…read morediagnosed with a minor ACL tear and a meniscus tear, and Dr. Chambers recommended ACL reconstruction using an allograft along with meniscus surgery. I asked specifically about the meniscus procedure and was told that approximately 30% of my meniscus would be trimmed or removed. I asked about stitching it and he said that it is not possible. As a 36-year-old, I was concerned about the long-term implications of removing a significant portion of my meniscus, particularly the potential increased risk of developing arthritis over time. I also did additional research on ACL graft options and learned that, depending on the patient and circumstances, an allograft may have a higher re-tear rate than an autograft, particularly in younger and more active patients. Rather than proceeding immediately, I decided to get additional opinions and do more research. I am very glad that I did. I ultimately found another orthopedic surgeon who was able to repair (stitch) my meniscus rather than remove part of it, preserving 100% of my meniscus, while also addressing my ACL injury. When Dr Chambers made it clear that stitching wasn't an option. My experience taught me how important it is to thoroughly research your injury and treatment options and, especially for significant orthopedic surgery, get a second or even third opinion before making a decision. I would strongly encourage anyone with a meniscus tear to specifically ask whether meniscus repair is possible in their individual case and to consult an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in meniscus preservation and repair. One thing that helped me during my research was simply searching Google for "orthopedist who will stitch meniscus". That search helped me find surgeons who specifically focus on meniscus repair and preservation, rather than immediately removing damaged tissue. I am grateful that I took the time to investigate my options before undergoing surgery. Had I not done so, I may have ended up with a procedure that I would have regretted in the long term. I also had a separate billing issue with the office. After their office submitted the insurance claim, I discovered that I had been overcharged. I contacted them about the discrepancy, and they acknowledged the issue and said they would refund the difference. It's been a month, and I still haven't received my refund despite calling the office multiple times. I am sharing this review because I hope it encourages other patients to ask questions, research their options, and seek additional opinions before proceeding with surgery. If even one person benefits from taking that extra step, then sharing my experience will have been worthwhile.

She took the time to explained everything clearly and showed where the pain may be coming from. By the time we got home, my mom already felt noticeably relief. That surprised us as this was just an initial evaluation. There are many skilled professionals out there, but it's rare to find someone who is not only highly skilled but also genuinely cares about their patients. Laura is exactly that. At each visit, I paid my $25 copay and, for the most part, received one-on-one treatment with a physical therapist. After the initial 5 weeks, I was still experiencing some pain and decided to continue treatment. Unfortunately, the quality of care seemed to decline from there. I would sometimes see an actual physical therapist briefly at the beginning of the appointment, but then I would be passed off to an assistant and essentially work through the same exercises and movements on my own. There were times when I felt I was barely being monitored, including whether I was using proper form. The billing experience was even more frustrating. I later learned that my $25 copay did not cover everything I was being billed for. When I questioned the additional charges, especially since my appointments seemed to consist of essentially the same treatment each time, I was told the charges were based on the billing codes entered by the physical therapist. I contacted my insurance company to understand why these charges were not covered. My insurance company attempted several times to contact the billing department to clarify the charges but was unable to reach the appropriate person. Eventually, I stopped hearing anything about the balance and assumed the issue had been resolved. Now, several months later, I received a collection notice for the same balance I had been trying to resolve in the first place. This is extremely frustrating and disappointing, particularly because I made an effort to address the charges before they ever reached this point. I see that other people have had positive experiences with this location, but unfortunately, mine was not one of them. Between the decline in the quality and attentiveness of the treatment and the way the billing issue was handled, I would not recommend this location to anyone I know. I'm sharing my experience so others know to pay close attention to both the level of care they are receiving and exactly what is being billed to their insurance.

For Anaheim office…read more Positive: Doctor Khan, PA Sadia, and MA Vivian: very personable, nice, speak plain language, and know how to listen. Negative: front staff lost all of my paperwork. Apologetic, but delayed me until I wrote everything again. Appointment date pushed back because of insurance company. Story: went in early March with bursitis. Was getting a quick appointment until they learned my insurance; I was then given an appointment an appointment weeks away (21st). [There are other reviews that confirm this practice of giving further-away appoints for Cal-Optima.] I did the paperwork while I was there (so I wouldn't have to come early and do it today). Then, they asked me to step aside (while making the appointment) so they could "quickly check someone out." That person became four. I had to interject: "you were helping *ME* first. You asked to check one person out, but now I'm waiting for four? No, I waited and shouldn't have: finish with me." She made a sour face and asked the line if she could "stop to finish with him [me]." Jump to today: they lost my paperwork and made me wait while I finished a new packet. [Ashley E.] I protested, reminding them: this was their fault, not mine: I have a disbled wife waiting downstairs for me and we weren't anticipating such a delay. They took me back in less than 2 minutes. From there, it was better. The M.A., Vivian, was very nice even offered to write-out the paperwork (I have nerve damage in hands). Very nice. Then Adrian took me to X-ray. 5hen the P.A., Sadia, came in l. Also very nice, listened to what I said carefully. Then, Dr. Khan came in. Very nice, amiable, listens well. We discussed options. The best option was taken: no unnecessary drugs, situation is resolving itself, so let the body work. Surgery if necessary, but currently: no action needed other than a brace and limited motion. Did not push pain drugs. The front staff can't tell me what happened to my paperwork. HIPAA-telated PHI\PII is "out there" without knowing where it is. My identity was stolen a couple of years ago, so I really have a problem with this. Vivian said she'd report this to her manager (I believe her); the manager never came to see me. So the doctor's rating suffers because the staff f*cked up.

I just got back from this office and I'm so upset I have to write this review now to express my…read moredisappointment to the indifference of the receptionist. I had pain and swelling inside my mouth, it was at the borderline of the gum and inside cheek, It did not look to me it was an abscess but more on the cheek as the swelling was visible on the outside as if I had mumps but that could not be as I was fully vaccinated. Dr Schachter was not available so I saw his associate who told me I had an abscess, I still did not think so but accepted the Augmentin 875 mg twice a day. I took it for 7 days it helped a little bit but did not stop hurting so I went to the urgent care and the DO told me also it was an abscess. After a week it came back w a vengeance, I could not sleep, I went in today to ask for the antibiotic to be renewed as I could not get an appointment w an ENT larynx Md till 5-27 by that time I might get into a sepsis, infection inside the mouth is not a small matter. Here is my background: After my brother graduated from U of Paris medical school he gave me all his books n I read them all. I'm not a doctor but had 7 years of courses also required to become a doctor, anatomy, physiology, phamacology, Pharmacognosy, public health you name it plus I still spend hours each day watching medical, health videos and read mayo clinic articles. I literally cured my husband illness. For years he had so much pain, he thought he was going to die, he saw about 5 doctors, surgeons some wanted to do back surgeries, I BLOCKED IT the last thing you want to do is back surgery, one day I read about sciatica, the sciatic nerve can easily get bent crushed and cause symptoms similar to what he had, I studied his case, what he did all day and FIGURED OUT 100% CORRECTLY he drove 2 hrs in traffic to LA, 4 hours a day sitting on his huge wallet bulging out of his right side jeans pocket. I told him to remove his wallet, in 3 days the pain was gone!! YEP I CURED HIM, for 8 years all 5 doctors could not figure out and almost put my husband life in danger recommending back surgery. The wallet pressed hard on the sciatica nerve causing inflammation and pain. Remove the wallet VOILA, PROBLEM SOLVED. Last night during my insomniac episode, It flashed in my head since it was not mumps, not abscess, gotta be the salivary glands, I got up at4 and read for 3 hrs all articles from mayo clinic, Cleveland clinic, etc.. looked at all the pictures of the salivary glands, it is indeed the salivary glands all dried out from blockage by either calcium deposits or extreme dryness of mouth side effects from the statins then bacterias proliferate. That's my humble opinion, do not take it as advice on anything, check w your doctor. The receptionist or whichever title she has at the desk, refused to understand my situation that this infection is not a joke, it's in the blood stream and can cause sepsis and death for nothing. I told her it won't take more than 5 to10 minutes, no blood test needed, no Xray, I already had my problem figured out, prove me wrong, please grant me that favor anybody to renew my Rx I was already on, I did not ask for the moon, she said to come back tomorrow but I'm in Hoag hospital for my husband radiation and chemo till about 3pm. There must be some leeway for cases like mine, she showed no compassion. Dr Schacter is my hero, 6 stars for him, 2 stars refer to the office help, indifference to patients suffering.
