Visiting SLO and my wife heard about this trail. I checked online on how to access...unfortunately…read morethe article was from 5 years ago and seemed to be outdated. Make sure you have plenty of time as there is quite a bit to see. We had a little over an hour and weren't able to see everything. We parked at the parking village drive parking garage, which was $10. There are 2 trails that head to the entrance arch shown in the picture..the first we ran across connected to the living quarters as was a narrow trail in the grass leading to the woods. This is a tad more challenging as the other trail is a gravel road with a slight incline and this route is a small path through the woods ( incline, decline, over branches and roots, etc). After about 14 mins it connects the gravel travel. To access from the gravel trail start from the parking garage opposite of the parking garage entrance there is a sidewalk path leading to a bridge, cross the bridge and you'll be on your way. Immediately, we saw some horses wandering around and crossing us on the trail. They were calm and a pleasant surprise. I won't post much of our photos, but there are lots of interesting structures that gave me a burning man feel. Lots of graffiti too, not sure if that is welcome or just vandalism. This was a nice change of pace trail and I would recommend.

If you've heard of the Architecture Graveyard, this is the way to get there! Other reviews have…read moregood directions but I highly recommend going on a weekend so you don't have to worry about finding parking. There's also a parking garage that isn't too far, in addition to the nearby staff lots. Trail is a fire road, and occasionally there are cars/trucks on it, so stay aware. You'll eventually come to a route to your right with a bridge for a hidden trail, but keep going to the left to get to the graveyard - plan to spend an hour or two if you really want to wander around and see all the structures. The trail itself is shady, but several of the projects are out in the open - take sunblock and water, and use common sense. For better or worse, most of the architecture displays are run-down, broken, and/or vandalized with graffiti - it lends a cool dystopian vibe to the area but it's a shame that the university let them get so damaged. Still cool to explore, though, stop by to take a look and get in some steps on a nice day!

Wine: Cabernet (Which one escapes me... was too preoccupied with enjoying it.) Dessert: Tiramisu Creme brulee Need I say more? Perfect dining experience for our out-of-town guests, and for us.

I absolutely love this place--does that tell you enough?…read more As someone who is quite particular about Italian-style food, especially with having paternal grandparents from Puglia, Italy, I often feel disappointed by what I find. However, this restaurant truly exceeded my expectations. They don't attempt to be overly authentic, they are! They serve Italian food at its finest in the SLO area, and I greatly appreciate that. I was first introduced to this place by one of my colleagues in our industry. We decided to hold a speaker program here, and it turned out to be a brilliant choice. My second visit was just as enjoyable, and I would highly recommend the following dishes: - Bruschetta - Mozzarella Caprese - Calamari Fritti (a bit spicy) - Insalata Café Roma - Orecchiette con Cime di Rapa, Salsiccia, e Pecorino (this dish resonates with me since orecchiette originated in the region of my family's heritage) - Osso Buco alla Milanese - Scampi Piccata - Salmone Alla Griglia When it comes to dessert, here's what I would recommend: - Caffe Affogato - Spumoni Ice Cream covered in a chocolate shell You may wonder why I chose these. The Caffe Affogato and spumoni are what we, as true Italians, consider authentic. Tiramisu, while delicious, is a non-traditional dessert that was invented much later. Just "think about it and forget about it" ;-) lol, even though it's really good! Tell em Joey sent you. Ha! Ciao!

We were also fortunate enough to get some nice sunny weather on our visit. The outdoor seating was perfect for the weather. It did get a little windy later in the afternoon so I suggest you bring a jacket just in case if it gets chilly. On top of the scenery the service was great as well. The host greeted us and sat us right away. We ordered the wine flight since this is our first time at this vineyard we wanted to try everything. The wine connoisseur was really friendly, did a great job explaining each wine and timed out each pour perfectly. My personal favorite was the Chardonnay. Next time we're visiting the area we'll certainly be back for another wine tasting.

Given the limited seating, I found it to be kind of misleading but my fault for assuming. We ended up ordering a bottle to share as we decided that we weren't going to stay for too long. The rose was good but hard for me to judge as I am not too expert with wine tasting. We got a cheeseboard which was $55 and decent? Service was also okay overall. Given their pricing being higher than other vineyards and it being on the smaller side, I would not personally return but loved the experience nonetheless. Great views and did like the atmosphere but would try other spots in area as there are so many.

We had to wait a little while, but it wasn't that long, especially on a Saturday evening, which was a surprise to us. We decided to sit on the patio, we were concerned about the weather, but they had heaters which were nice.

Came to Nate's on Easter Sunday which offered only a pre-fixe menu. While the menu did feature many…read moreof Nate's star dishes, it was also a lot for brunch and I honestly could have forgone dessert which was the least memorable part of the meal in my opinion. For starters, we tried both the crab bisque and the arugula salad. The salad was dressed well and fluffed nicely. The shaved fennel added a nice crunch to the salad and the beets added that nice earthy sweetness. It was a little odd the beets were just two thick slices on the bottom though...not exactly conducive to eating as a salad. As for the crab bisque, it featured a generous amount of crab meat making the soup sweet yet seafood forward. For mains, we tried the breakfast pasta and the lemon mafaldine. The mafaldine honestly blew me away. The lemon was bright with pops of freshness from the mint and the sauce was creamy but not too thick! The breakfast pasta tasted like an upgraded carbonara. The meatiness of the bacon lardon was probably my favorite part of the dish. For dessert, we went with one of each. The strawberry sorbet fit the weather better but the chocolate torte did have that fudgy richness that you just want for the weekend. But, as previously stated, if the pre-fixe menu wasn't required, we probably also could have gone without it. Servicewise, Nate's was impressive. Fountain drinks refills were swapped seamlessly, dishes were described impeccably, and I also loved the little postcard they wrote for our anniversary. Details matter, and Nate's nailed it here.
