Closer to the appointment time, I received a text link to check in. Upon arrival, I was greeted right away and taken to the waiting area which was stocked with SO many drinks and snacks! Prob the most and nicest setup I've seen for snack/drink offerings at salon. They make their own cold brew, have a large selection of teas, nespresso pods, milks, syrups, and bubbly drinks! Seriously such a cute setup. The salon itself is very clean and modern with a lot of natural lighting. Leslie was super sweet and I liked my haircut! My appointment wasn't too long but I didn't feel rushed at all. I went in on a Saturday and did not have issues with parking however I can see parking being a little tricky if you book during the week, so be sure to plan ahead just in case. I came in with multiple reference photos for what I thought was a pretty straightforward style: layers, curtain bangs, and a blowout, with about 3 inches taken off my base length. Instead, I essentially left with 3 inches taken off and a few layers in the front that didn't translate into the back. I was also disappointed to find that their version of a blowout was simply blow drying and curling the hair, which was not what I was expecting based on my photos. More than anything, I wish they had just been upfront and told me they weren't comfortable doing this particular haircut. When I showed the stylist my photos, they gave me several reasons why certain techniques or the style itself wouldn't work for my hair. I would have much rather known upfront that they weren't comfortable executing the look and waited to see my regular stylist. I also should have asked to see some of their previous haircut work beforehand as none of their work is similar to the photos I included here. I really tried to be understanding throughout the appointment, but unfortunately, I left with a basic haircut that wasn't what I asked for and a result I'm still dealing with weeks later. Just a really disappointing experience overall.

I tried three times to book an appointment with Maia online, but the website kept giving me errors. I eventually made an appointment over the phone and arrived 15 minutes early. This time, I was greeted by an older Vietnamese woman I had never met before. She was friendly and polite, and before she started cutting my hair, I showed her three clear reference photos of exactly how I wanted my hair cut. However, the real disappointment came after the haircut. After shampooing my hair, she began blow-drying and styling it. Despite my naturally curly hair, she attempted to straighten it with a flat brush. When she realized how curly my hair was, she asked me how I usually styled it at home. Then, unbelievably, she put some hair wax into the palm of my hand and asked me to apply it and style my hair myself. To make matters worse, the back of my hair was still wet, with water literally dripping from it when she finished. I get my hair cut every two months, and I can say without hesitation that this was the worst haircut experience I've had in the past ten years. I appreciate friendliness and courtesy, but professional skill and competence should always come first. Being nice simply cannot make up for a lack of basic hairstyling skills. I went to a professional salon expecting a professional haircut and styling service--not to be handed some hair wax and told to finish the job myself. Extremely disappointing, completely unprofessional, and by far the worst haircut experience I've had in years. I will not be returning.

I was scheduled with Saverio The place is nice, the front desk lady was friendly, the intern was adorable and friendly and Saverio was nice. Here is what I really didn't care for, I paid $120 and really didn't get what I wanted. Saverio informed me of who he use to work for and what his techniques are from. When it came to cutting my hair I had to keep making it shorter. He used some product but really didn't let me know what it was so I could buy it. Now I feel like I look like Doc Brown from Back to the Future. Will I go back, no I won't. Mainly because of the cost. The price should reflect in my opinion the length of hair and mine is super short.
