They use drama workshops, discussions and teaching, all aimed at bringing together the catholic and protestant communities.
Sectarianism in Glasgow is mostly centred around Rangers and Celtic, bringing a lively edge to Glasgow derbies and, in many ways, defining the city's atmosphere for outsiders. There still is a great deal of segregation on the West Coast- Catholic schools are popular, and graffiti often explores religious identity.
A mixture of old fashioned football hooliganism, bigotry on both sides and an anxiety about how to address this gives Glasgow sectarianism a unique flavour. When you consider that it was only in 2003 that employment law expressly forbade discrimination on grounds of religion, it becomes clear that this is not some ancient problem that has recently disappeared.
Nil By Mouth are aiming to cut it out at the root, by addressing primary school children. They do emphasise how what might seem like simple partisan behaviour can lead to violence and, sadly, murder.
