Lowered my rating due to customer service. Seems like the good people left…read more We bought a bag of rice that was tainted with dry food pests (stringy webs/cocoons inside and eggs). I understand that this was not the supermarket's bad, but the manufacturer's bad. Either way, we weren't going to eat a bag of rice that had bugs in it and as a customer, it was the supermarket's issue with their supplier. So, I brought the rice back to return it and had to *argue with the staff* for them to believe me. They insisted that it was just string, so I asked them how could string be sticky or have this texture?! Anyway, they very adamantly let me exchange it and warned me that I couldn't just buy their product, eat it, then return it because I didn't like it. It was kind of ridiculous and rude. We didn't eat the rice because it was bad, and why would I waste my day carrying a 10lb bag of rice to return it if it was good? I went back again recently to stock up on my usual foods. The lady asked if I wanted a bag and I said yes. She warned me that they started charging 1kr for bags since about a month ago, but this time she wouldn't charge me because I didn't know. I said thank you and went home only to see on the receipt that she charged me anyway. I know it was only 1kr, but it was dishonest. So, it looks like they've hired some slightly rude and possibly dishonest people there now. Unfortunate, really. Albeit the service, I still come here to get my tofu, noodles, and condiments.

If someone says "oriental" I think of oriental carpets, belly dancers and middle east. Of course "orient" means east and china etc are all east, but but.... I feel like I got totally tricked here. Rating 1 star for traveling all the way here and not finding what I was actually looking for. However this place really has everything for a Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Taiwanese etc. dish.

I took a trip outside of my usual shopping area to go to the Pris-Xtra since I knew it was enormous…read moreand I might find some of the items I couldn't find at smaller stores. Well, all the signs were still up but it was gone! Wandering down the street I found a new hemköp that was about to open and they were giving out free coffee and I really needed to get these items for a dinner tonight so I waited around and actually quite a crowd gathered by the time it opened. Maybe they were hoping for a long Swedish speech, or just didn't want to miss the chance to queue =o) Once we were in, they handed out roses and champagne (maybe it wasn't actually champagne but I don't drink enough bubbly or speak enough swedish to tell)! It's a nice grocery store? I mean it's brand new so it looks nice. I found tortilla chips which I hadn't been able to find at Coop or ICA near me in Fridemsplan but no fire-roasted crushed tomatoes. They have the automated check-out machines but most people seemed afraid to use them so there were loooonng lines at the checkout but it had JUST opened to a long queue of people. There were 7 checkout lanes so they seem like they would be able to handle a lot of people normally. It could be that my memories are exaggerated but I remember the Pris-Xtra it replaced being MUCH bigger. My cell phone didn't work inside the store (it's in the basement) so that was kind of sad but often par for the course with large grocery stores. In the end, you can get food here and the vegetables were fresh -- that's what a grocery store is all about, right? Granted I was here on the most incomparable of days.

I work close to Torsplan, so I stop by this shop regularly. I think they have a great assortment…read moreand I like how things are organized. Have been extremely happy with the quality and variety of the meat. They also have a decent collection of international food items. Don't forget to take a look at their fresh flower section, as this is one of the best value for money when it comes to flowers!

They did have a nice selection in terms of fresh produce, in many ways it felt like a farmers market and you could even make and ground your own almond butter through a machine but other than a small selection of this sort - there wasn't really much else which for a huge store was a little disappointing. I was disappointed with a lack of to-go food and stands here, making it different (and not in a good way) to similar department stores including Harrods, Marks and Spencer and Selfridges of London for example. I did find it hard to find a member of staff, compared to the rest of the store here. They didn't have a great gluten-free selection either in terms of products made gluten-free - it was non-existent. NK Saluhall doesn't compare to the main store sadly, but still, it deserves an extra star as it does offer some unique products in a nice way you can't get anywhere else in Stockholm.

You will salivate over top quality food displays, ranging from meats, seafood, cheeses, pastries, etc.... I can't afford to shop or dine here too often but if you want to try really good smörgås (Scandinavian open sandwich), check out "Tysta Mari", seafood deli inside. If you fancy "fika" (coffee break), check out Robert's Coffee near the entrance... you can get a coffee and a yummy vaniljhärta for take away and take a stroll in Humlegården, a beautiful park only a few blocks away (even though a nice weather is very unlikely to happen.... lol).

One of my dreams when moving to Europe was finding a local butcher to buy all my meats. Lucky me--I…read morefound one in Stockholm!!! We've gotten the small meat box a few times and they're always great, packaged in nice portions. Sometimes things are vacuum sealed, other times just in a plastic bag--but always sealed with a label of what it is. Sausages (~140-180kr/kg) and minced beef (100kr/kg) are amazingly fresh and flavorful. If you want to try the meat pies, the beef and smoked bacon one was quite quite tasty. Chicken breasts are of great quality; onion/bacon/beef burgers delicious. Love the steaks too. We've gotten a whole cornfed chicken from France once (125kr/kg) and the meat was tender and super flavorful. Carcass made an amazing soup. Basically everything we've gotten there has been fresh and excellent. We got the cooked ham to glaze during Xmas, and it was the best ham I think I've ever had. They didn't have hams less than 2kgs, but nonetheless took the time to open a prepackaged one and slice the amount I asked for (then vacuum seal it for me!). If you're looking for other English/Australian things, you can find Cadbury chocolates, Vegemite and other things. Staff are always helpful at the store, even by email they are quite efficient. Prices are reasonable for the quality you get. If you're looking for something they don't have, they encourage you to call in ahead of time so they can order it for you. Highly, highly recommend this butcher!

A neighborhood butcher in Kungsholmen, these guys hail from Ireland and have impressed upon the Swedes what good, quality, and local meats are. The quality of the meat is outstanding, and the service was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Most importantly, they understand the importance of locally grown meats, and they provide many options to their very loyal clientele, including meat boxes which provide a diverse selection of fresh meat, on a regular basis, delivered to your door at incredible prices (far more affordable than ICA or any other supermarket in Stockholm). You're doing yourself, your health, your community, your environment, and the future of the food industry a disservice by not buying all your meat here.
