I was in Nice for vacation and wanted a bottle of Bordeaux from 1983 to celebrate my birthday. They…read morehad it, and it was one of the most amazing wine experiences of my life!!! The sellers are nice and friendly and speak perfect English, and there's also a cute puppy chilling in the store!! We also wanted some champaign (they have great prices compared to the other wine stores in the area) but finally decided to experience Blanquette de Limoux (a rare sparkling wine) that I definatly recomend. I make sure to buy all my wine from this place next time I go to Nice!
Three bottles of vin to start our night!

He inquired about my wine tastes, price range and then offered wonderful descriptions of the wines he recommended. He was very friendly, helpful and courteous. I ended up with four nice bottles to take back to Seattle in my suitcase. I like the taste of these hearty red wines from Provence which don't contain sulfides and taste delicious. I recommend 1862 Wine and Spirits to purchase some nice wines to drink while in Cannes or take home for gifts (to yourself or others)!

Very pleasant discovery after many years of coming to Cannes. So far have tried 6 or 7 wines (all…read more10 euros or less) from this shop and each one has been spot on great value. A family operation for decades, the woman who has been in the shop is the wife...her husband is the one who selects the wines (and presumably tends to the other shop in La Bocca??). Obviously I can't speak to their higher priced offerings, as I have yet to try some bottles I bought ranging up in price. However, I am confident that this is a good source for wine. One problem is that parking is an issue if you are driving here. It might be best to come in the afternoon when the Gambetta marché is converted to parking, but I prefer to shop in the morning.

Federico translated everything and enjoyed doing so. The wine recommendation was spot on - to what we like to drink (not forced based on what we ordered). The prices are most reasonable. We had: - Entry 1: assortment of charcuterie (10EUR) - Entry 2: rillette of smoked fish - Stew and soft polenta - Ravioli I do not remember any more the exact name but it was stuck with salad - Dessert:Pain of spice home made and corcica honey ice. Good advice concerning wines according to the tastes and the budget of each. Very good service, I brought down by clumsiness a wine bottle, we did not charge her to me, somewhere else that would not have been the case I think.
