Doug gave me one of the best haircuts I've ever received, and I'll be a customer, moving forward. Update: I've been going to see Doug for close to two years now. He immediately knew my hair to a T. Doug is intuitive and observant. My angles and preference are perfectly stored in his muscle memory. He needn't ask me how I like this or how I prefer that. We'll chat instead about pretty much anything. I swear he understands my hair's growth so well that everyday between visits is like a new haircut. He's that good, and my cut seems to grow in proportionately rather than "grow out." His cuts age like wine. It's magic. Westcott has the kind of vibe that can turn my week around in 45 minutes.

I walk in and get sat in a chair immediately, the gentleman asked if I wanted a fade and I told him no I was looking more for a skin cut around the sides and back of my head and keep the top. Think Ranga from Vikings. I actually showed him the picture and he made sure it's what I wanted before he went to work. Although we didn't talk the environment had the proper barber babble, tv and music mix that made it seem lively. Haircut: 10/10, the barber nailed it, took his time, went through to make sure everything was lined up and was as close to skin as possible outside of literally razor shaving it. He even trimmed and lined up my beard as well so it's all a nice smooth haircut and touch up. Price was Beyond reasonable as well. If I'm ever in town and need a cut this will be the first place I lookup for sure.

They have always had hair sticking up after their haircuts or the shape was awkward because people didn't know how to work with it. Charles is a master in his craft. He is insanely patient and made sure they were getting exactly what they wanted. You can tell he's worked with A LOT of different hair types. He takes the whole 45 min but it's 100% worth it. You will be happy whether you show him a picture or let him do what he wants. His appointment process is a breeze to get through and he's the nicest guy ever. The space is really cool and all cuts are $22. Any beard shaving, etc is extra. They use a straight razor which is awesome. The music can kind of be loud sometimes. There are comfy couches you can chill on, they get through the walk-ins pretty fast and I've never seen anyone get ignored. Parking is annoying and tedious here so make sure you plan for that so you're not late. You can pay $3 for a lot behind the MOST. It will just be a little bit of a walk.

When I found out some of the guys that used to work at the Shoppingtown Barber Shop were starting their own place, I was excited. The new location is beautiful with new chairs, wooden supply areas, and a nice cooler for bottles of water and the like. The guys also started selling their own hair products, and I can happily report their paste hair gel is excellent. Cuts are still $15 which also gets you a warm shave of your neck/ear area. They also offer a beard shave or trimming which I believe costs a little extra. Give these guys a look - they are in the Guitar Center Plaza if you're having trouble finding them based on the address.
