Over the phone and by email, Shelley handled all of my long-distance requests (I was in the States and my daughter is in Halifax) with patience, and always in a timely manner. She accommodated our need for overnight storage, and worked with our timing to get out of one place and into another. The day of the move, which happened during the NS wildfires, the company's timing got a little derailed, through no fault of their own. When that impacted my daughter's move, they proactively waived some fees as compensation, and worked with her to make sure that they could still get the move done in time. Shelley sent over an extra mover, and when we suggested doing the move right into the new place, without the overnight hold (we were able to get her into the new place earlier than expected!), Shelley rolled with the punches, and pivoted to execute the move in one day. The extra mover (which we were not charged for) and the whole crew worked quickly but carefully, and got the move done in record time. Overall, it was tremendous value for what we got, and the move was done faster than we expected! Being far away was stressful for me, but Shelley made sure that everything ran smoothly and that my daughter was taken care of. I would highly recommend Gentle Giant for your local move. We can't thank Shelley and the crew enough for the care they took with our daughter's move!

Jeff was very quick to respond via email and gave a very good price to move the appliances and even followed up with me to adjust their schedule to a day to fit my move window and meet my budget. My appliances were wrapped up in heavy moving blankets and secured in their truck. They even rolled out the red carpet (literally) to ensure that my new floors and hardwood stairs would not be damaged while moving the appliances to their locations on different floors. They were friendly and polite. In short, I honestly can't say enough good things about my experience with them.

The guys arrived on the dot and in no time the house was empty and the truck full. I was nervous about some of my treasures, particularly old dishes from various family members that go back 150+ years. I needn't have worried. Everything arrived in perfect condition, unlike my last move where a whole set of irreplaceable dishes was broken. Jeff and his crew were courteous and, while I was upset that the property managers had not placed the elevator on service, Jeff and the guys were unfazed and said that since there was only one flight of stairs to deal with it was actually easier and quicker for them to use the stairs! I was thunderstruck! Imagine, up and down the stairs dozens of times on a very hot day! I strongly recommend the fast, efficient, courteous and very reasonably priced service of JPD Movers & Packing. In all my years of moving I have never received such excellent service. Linda Schnare 1/11/2019

They showed up late, they left early. Didn't seem to know anything about blocking a home (they actually came without blocks!!) and ended up charging nearly twice the estimated price. BUT - When he got to my friend's house (we were following in the car all the way ) and Brophy was backing the trailer up the driveway he backed the trailer "off" the driveway 1-3 feet drop and the trailer was almost flipped over . OMG, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. So how did Mr. Brophy correct this situation - Mr. Brophy got in his truck and went home !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am still in shock ! He left a half flipped over full size house trailer in this man's driveway. The driveway is "completely" blocked to get to this man's house. A fire truck wouldn't even be able to get to the house !! So my friend had to hire an excavator to come in 2 days later to lift the trailer back onto the driveway. And there it still sits !!!!! For around $85 including tax, I got 25 large green bins, two tall cardboard wardrobes and a dolly. It. Was. Amazing. The wardrobes meant that I took my clothes out of the closet and hung them in a protected box, and then put them in their new closet. So easy! And the boxes fit tons of stuff. It was such a relief to not have to go out searching for clean, large cardboard boxes and then spend time putting them together and disposing of them. Plus, Frogboxes are reusable and thus better for the planet! On top of the convenience, the service was fantastic.
