History

Established in 1998.

I've had a camera in my hands most of my life, but really began to study the science and art of photography in 1980. Slides and negatives show the progression of my art. I got my business started by selling note cards featuring photos of landmarks in Madison, IN, then had prints made for sale. I began to get requests to photograph weddings and families. That's when I registered my business in IN. I gathered scenic shots in 2005 and presented my first calendar for the year 2006. This is a tradition I continue to this day. We moved from Mulberry Street to Main Street in 2009 - With more space, I began to offer framing. I joined the Professional Photographers of America in 2010, taking advantage of their wonderful continuing education opportunities. Learning never stops! I was the featured artist for the 2010 Madison Chautauqua poster - the only photographer ever so honored I teach photography classes at the Outdoor Women event at Big Oaks National Wildlife Refuge.

Meet the Business Owner: Stephanie H.

Stephanie spent her first 22 years on the U.S. east coast, then settled in Madison, Indiana after her husband's job brought them to the Midwest. He owned the camera which got her started on the road to being a professional photographer. From his totally manual 35 mm SLR she graduated to fancier cameras with automated features, then stepped up to a Hasselblad 250C. Then the world went digital. sigh . . . She is involved in her community on many levels - from being a founding member of the Madison Community Players, Inc. theatre company, to volunteering as the River Sweep Coordinator for the past 25 years. She got the city recycling program started in 1989 and is now a member of the state recycling district's advisory board. She teaches yoga in her studio one evening a week, is studying to be a community tree steward and taking tap dancing lessons, too. She is a true professional - she has integrity, is dependable and creative, and guarantees her work.
