Although I didn't have the guts to get all the way back to that rail where the falls come crashing down behind you, I got close enough to feel the wind pushing me over. The deck vibrates as the water pounds the supports. Make no mistake, you will get wet here, especially if you venture onto the Hurricane Deck. We really didn't get too wet because we wore our rain coats and put the provided poncho overtop which protected everything except our faces and feet. DO THIS. My friend told me she wasn't interested in getting soaked but I convinced her to come and she thanked me afterwards. AWESOME!!! You can also choose to stay down on the lower deck where you don't get wet at all. My husband did that. I am going to drag him up on the Hurricane Deck next trip...

This beautiful mural boasts a rainbow of color along the building on 1st St in Niagara Falls, featuring a pattern of hearts and the phrase "Let's Fall In Love." This is probably his best mural yet. I love the gorgeous array of soft color and how the entire thing spans half way down the block. I brought my dog here to take pictures for her instagram (is that not the most millennial sentence ever?) and it's so big that you could take photos in multiple spots and get a good variety of different background. This mural is only a few blocks from Niagara Falls State Park, so definitely worth checking out!

I decided that…read moreafter my meal I was going to go for a walk around the area and see what I could during the remaining daylight. I stumbled upon this alley. I am assuming that they use this area during street festivals or gatherings of sorts. However, I as type that out, it also looked as if it has not been used in a hot minute. There are weeds that line the walkway and some trash could be picked up. Some of the mortar on the walls have fallen off and there are obvious signs of a need for repair. The artwork on the walls are nicely done and show the flair of the area. Vibrant colors that pull you into the alley. I sure do hope that they spruce it up a bit as it could be a big draw to pull tourists further out. It just feels like this area has not fully rebounded from the pandemic.

I was there today March 24 at 11:15am your 2 millenial females with dark hair glasses and ponytails were sitting at the desk by the computers. They were gossiping about customers. Saying how they don't know the person but they feel like they are.... I went up to your dark hair guy at the desk by the front. He had glasses and a red sweatshirt. He refuses to do anything about it. He says I stand behind my coworkers. All I asked was for the behaviour to be more professional. Another blonde lady with glasses ( she was about my age. I'm 49) she hears the conversation and goes over to the desk and tells the millenial lady working about my complaint. I then hear the millenial lady say well you know she's a....the lady stops her and says, we should avoid saying anything else cause she might come over and yell at us. See this why people don't feel comfortable coming to the downtown library anymore. I've worked in Customer service the last 30 years of my life. I don't understand why employees in a Library get to behave so rudely?? At any of my jobs we would have been fired for it Please teach your staff some professionalism

A beautiful place to spend some time and get an interesting perspective of the water leading to the…read morefalls. If you are visiting Cave of the Winds you will need to head to this area. It also hosts Top of the Falls restaurant which is a great place to get a decent meal with a view. You can drive to goat island (there is a paid parking lot) or use the pedestrian walkways. If you want a great view and some unique perspectives of the falls and rapids, definitely consider making your way to goat island.

We made it just in time to catch a gorgeous sunset in the background of the Canadian side and was happy to find after 6pm that Monday there was no admission charge! There was plenty of parking and everything was well lit as we stayed until after dark. I brought the dogs and as always the grounds are friendly for leashed pets. Be careful of all the Canadian Geese though! Make sure to visit both the Canadian and American falls overlooks. At night it is nice to see the falls get lit up in different colors that change periodically. This is my favorite place on the American side and there is plenty of room even if there are a lot of people. It is a must see.

The Prospect Point Observation Tower (also known as Niagara Falls Observation Tower) is a great…read moreway to admire the full grandeur of the falls from Niagara Falls, NY. Although it is set a short distance away from the edge of the falls, it is close enough to the falls to occasionally enjoy a refreshing spray. From here, you can get a clear view of all three falls, including American Falls, as well as the mesmerizing rapids. The boarding area for the Maid of the Mist tours is located at the base of the tower, accessed by a high-speed elevator from the observation deck. The base of the tower also provides access to the Crow's Nest, a smaller observation area located much closer to the falls. You do not need to go on a Maid of the Mist tour to go to the lower level, but there is a small fee for the deck and elevator.
