What a gem of an aviation museum with so much great soaring-high history, all in one location, with many visual references to western New York's contributions to aviation!! I've been to a few air museums there and here, all incredible aviation-related historic items, and Niagara Fall's aerospace museum is no exception!! Be sure to visit each corner because there is a LOT to see and read! There are also quite a few videos etc that are available, and you will need to spend more than just a "few minutes" to visit and enjoy each historic moment. A good amount of souvenirs and apparel are available to preserve and remember your visit too!! Well worth a visit if you can spare a few "minutes!". Located within the Niagara Falls International Airport complex and to the right as you exit out at the traffic circle. Did I mention the very friendly knowledgeable people who work there? If not familiar with the airport, you could look at googleMaps [unintentional referral] for its exact location before driving out! After you've visited the aerospace museum, you could drive a short distance to the Falls to check out Prospect Point/Goat Island and see again WHO left their water faucet open at the Falls!!

$10 adult admission, $5 military and other discounts that I forgot already. But price was great for an hour and a half reading everything and seeing versions of planes, helicopters, training systems, rockets, and equipment. At the end was a children's area and a flight simulator and landing simulator to try your hand at. There was a tour guide but he was occupied with another guest so another man shared what he knew with a car mechanic background, which fit well with the displays and enhanced our visit anyways. Parking free and basically a covered walkway in so it's good on rainy or snowy days. I was fascinated by the emphasis on Buffalo history and how much happened here and in New York in general.

If you're looking for something to do for an hour and a half, this is a great way to learn something new about WNY history. It goes into detail about three airplane manufacturers based in WNY- Bell, Curtiss, and Consolidated. Each section covers the history, has model airplanes of those manufactured here, fun facts about each company, and some real artifacts like engines and parts, and even a few real planes and helicopters. There are also displays on other related local companies such as Moog and Scott Aviation. Small section on space and NASA including the original control board used during "Houston, we had a problem". Quite a few plaques commemorating the significance of the planes and objects that were the first of their kind made here, and really will make you proud of all the innovation that took place here in WNY. At the end, there's a movie and simulators, a plane simulator you can sit in and control, a lunar lander you can land with joysticks and another small plane for preschoolers to play in. Overall, this is a great museum that needs a little love. I'm not into planes but still found much of it very interesting. I think anyone with family members who worked for any of the companies featured would also feel proud of the legacy they left. I'd consider coming here again one day if they get any new exhibits. We had a Groupon and it was well worth seeing at least once. I hope this museum can get more funding, it deserves it. You can tell many of the exhibits were probably put together by lots of passionate volunteers but some of them seem a little dated.

This is a hidden gem in Buffalo, NY. A must see, if you are in the area. I was visiting family, and had an opportunity to visit this museum. There are so many historic aviation artifacts, with insightful displays. There is also a hands on area for small children, and a simulator that teens and adults, will enjoy. The museum is located next to an active runway, so there's also the opportunity to see planes take off and land. The gift shop is small, but I purchased some neat postcards, a magnet and an aviation book. My sister bought several T-shirts and postcards. Everything was quite affordable. Restrooms are available. There is modest charge for admission. Parking is free. Call ahead for hours, to make sure they are open.

Walter was our guide for this tour this man was an erudite in his field. His knowledge added to the overall tour of the museum. We ordered a Groupon to and visit the museum so our family went. We learned that Buffalo has a huge connection to the history of flight. There was several different parts of the museum that added to the experience, several engines were cut open to expose the inner workings. This houses two full sized prop airplanes one of which was used to fly from Albany to New York City as a prototype airplane just three years after the Wright Brothers flew their aircraft. When you are looking for a good time that is based in an educational based entertainment this is the place to go. There were so many model aircraft and placards to look at and read it would take you about four hours of a guided tour to truly uncover all that this place has to offer.

We focused a lot on the history during our tour, but Walter's knowledge goes far beyond the history.

Before 1848, this was done with a trip on a rowboat or ferry; after 1848 a train suspension bridge was the preferred highway to freedom. The museum takes 30-60 minutes to explore, and it's beautifully done in multimedia. The gift shop is worth a look too: Volumes of history, and T-shirts. As I was driving away, I looked over Whirlpool Drive to the gorge, and saw the ruins of the old suspension bridge. It made the heart ache: So much human drama happened there, and now it's incognito.

Before and after your visit, the gift shop is worth exploring, it's filled with meaningful items. I picked up a Black History Matters shirt and was very pleased with the quality. For the tour itself, I had a young guide who was both knowledgeable and engaging. As a local, he tied the history to personal experiences, which made the stories even more impactful. The tour was very informative and offered insight into another side of the Underground Railroad routes that many people don't often hear about. The location is also convenient--if you're traveling by Amtrak to Canada, the museum is in the same building, making it a great activity before your train. The cost is a small fee, and absolutely worth every bit for the experience and knowledge gained. A must-visit if you're in the area.

I would definitely skip this museum!…read more I was expecting a lot more from this museum considering the name. It could have had more about the history of the falls, it's significance to the residents, more indigenous history, some underground railroad history, maybe some scientific facts about the falls. They had a random tattoo exhibit. They went into a war that I didn't even know happened so I did learn something but I was disappointed. The highlight was the gift shop. They have awesome soaps, magnets and eclipse watching glasses. The bug artwork and taxidermy dog were creepy but cool. If you are a local I would come to support. If you're visiting don't bother. Hate to be hard on a museum but this was disappointing! Staff was friendly as usual.

Also it was amazing to put on the replica uniform from the War of 1812 and carrying a riffle.. The kids enjoyed it the most. In the 2nd floor there are another exhibition that will get you immersed in the history of the iconic City of Niagara Falls. We enjoyed the most three interactive stations in this gallery that allow us to touch mother nature, span the gorge and become a daredevil. There are 4 places to park infront of the museum on the main street. And I think there is parking lot on the back ( we didn't try that as we parked infront of the museum ). There is a gift shop where you can buy souvenirs. The visit may take around one hour.

It was lovely, gorgeous, and breathtaking. During winter the area is a ghost town making parking plentiful. We purchased tickets and were guided inside promptly. We were given a brief video history of Niagara Falls before we were herded to the elevators and brought down to the main attraction. In winter just watch your step and go bundled. It was definitely misty and plenty of ice on the floor. But enjoy and take tons of pictures. Would definitely come back!

Shoes, Socks, Legs, SOAKED. 2) We went towards the end of the season, the wood handrails and boarding are all SLIPPERY, walk slow. 3) Did I mention you will get SOAKED? Ok so, first time here, but I had read some reviews and we brought our own Ponchos which were far superior to what they hand out here with your entry ticket. I wore shorts, in the cold weather, because that is just what I do, so my pants did not get wet. I wore socks and shoes that were quick drying, so I only walked around in sloshy shoes for a small time, however you are probably best to just bring a change so that you don't have to walk around in wet shoes at all. It is difficult to image the power of this falls, as my wife said to me here 'I thought it would be bigger" Is that the first time she has said that to me? Maybe not. While the falls itself is not super tall, it is massively wide, and the power that is generated by the water coming over the falls is hard to express, without experiencing it from the decks here at the cave of the winds. Oh yeah, also there is no cave.

I somewhat knew what to…read moreexpect because I have been to several butterfly farms before, so I was expecting the usual enclosed environment with butterflies flying freely around. However, this conservatory was even prettier than some of the other butterfly attractions I have visited. The environment itself is beautiful and peaceful. There are numerous butterflies flying around, along with lovely greenery, waterfalls, and water features that make the space feel calm and relaxing. It is a very nice attraction for anyone who enjoys nature, photography, or simply wants a peaceful place to explore. One part that really stood out to me was the interactive activity at the end of the experience. Guests are given a coloring sheet with a butterfly, hummingbird, or another design to color. Once finished, the attraction attendant scans the artwork, and then your colored image appears on a screen. I thought that was such a cool and creative feature. It added something extra and memorable to the visit. Overall, the Butterfly Conservatory was a beautiful and enjoyable attraction. The butterflies, scenery, water features, and interactive activity made it a relaxing and fun experience. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Our recent trip to the Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory was truly magical! Our tickets for…read moreadmission were included with our Wonder Pass Plus purchase. This attraction doesn't require an appointment, but it is a longer bus ride from the other Niagara Parks attractions, so be sure to plan for that. We used our passes to take the WEGO bus from Niagara Takes Flight to the butterfly conservatory. Rain was in the forecast, so this is a nice, indoor option. The conservatory itself houses so many butterflies, and they tell you upon entry that it is thought to be lucky if a blue one lands on you, so everyone inside is doing their best to attract a blue butterfly. Several landed on us, and while you don't want to move for fear of them flying away, you also want to get your companion's attention to snap that perfect pic! We had lots of fun even though the temperature is kept very warm and the space was crowded. Clearly, everyone had the same rainy-day activity planned. My only complaint comes from when I asked about re-entry. I was told that we could leave the conservatory, but not the building. We wanted to visit the cafe and grab a bite to eat or something to drink and perhaps return once the crowd had thinned out a bit, but that is not permitted. We were told that we could step out to cool down in the gift shop or lobby area and then return through the same entrance that we used when we arrived. The volunteer got on her walkie to tell someone that we'd be coming back in, so I'm not even sure that this is normally permitted. Overall, it was a fun and new experience for us. The staff was kind and the conservatory is beautiful. There's also a botanical garden and at least one beehive there, but we didn't get to explore the outdoor areas due to the rain.
