In matters such as trust and estate planning--where legal expertise intersects with family,…read moreemotion, and long-term responsibility--I initially expected legal services to be professional, accurate, and error-free. What Summerall Law, PCand its entire team provided went far beyond that. I would like to extend my special thanks to Albert Wu. His thoughtfulness, patience, and genuine kindness made every interaction smooth and reassuring. More importantly, he is fluent in Chinese and was able to explain and confirm complex legal concepts in the language I am most comfortable with. The feeling of being truly heard, understood, and respected is invaluable to a client. It is clear that he not only understands the law, but also understands people. I was equally impressed by Patrick's professionalism throughout the document revision process. He did not simply "make edits," but carefully reviewed and refined the documents word by word, patiently addressing every concern until everything met my standard of clarity, confidence, and peace of mind. This level of respect for a client's expectations and dedication to detail reflects a rare and admirable professional integrity. During the final signing stage, Man, the signing assistant, also demonstrated exceptional responsibility and professionalism. The entire signing process was well-organized, clearly explained, and handled with great care, leaving no stress--only trust--at such a critical moment. Looking back, what truly stands out is that this was never the work of a single individual, but of a highly collaborative, professional, and accountable team. Their respect for the law, seriousness toward client matters, and commitment to professional responsibility genuinely moved me. I can say with complete confidence that Summerall Law, PC is the most professional, diligent, and genuinely compassionate legal team I have ever worked with. In matters as important as one's life and family, encountering such a team is a rare and meaningful good fortune.

Be extremely careful. They say you get what you pay for, and that's actually true. This place is…read morelike the McDonald's of law firms. For a flat fee, you can buy the worst, least personalized, and most incorrect will/trust thrown together using a template that doesn't even closely approximate what was discussed. My husband and I had a terrible experience with Summerall law recently. when we told our friends, TWO of them had had the exact same experience with this exact same firm. This firm didn't spend any time explaining major legal issues, they skipped important questions, and they left major details out of our will and trust documents. They got names wrong, they got details wrong, entire paragraphs were left out. When we brought it to an ACTUAL attorney, he was horrified. For something this important, it couldn't be more critical to find an attorney that will spend time on your plans for your family after you die. Skip Summerall Law, they are a disaster. p.s If you need further evidence, the owner of this McDonald's lawfirm ADMITS in her reply below that she *doesn't even remember* having us as clients. That's what happens when you spend zero time with your clients, rush them out the door, and cobble together a template estate plan that doesn't reflect their wishes. DO BETTER.

However, our experience did not reflect the praise shared here and it was a mess all around- + We were given a questionnaire asking a number of questions to which we didn't have sufficient context to answer. + Ms. Abbass was patronising and borderline rude from the beginning - and was outright dismissive of our naive responses to the legal questions in the questionnaire. For example, when we had directions we wanted to place around our child's care involving overseas family, she called it "a dumb idea" but did not elaborate on why. + The office seems to work in a pre-digital age and notes on our questionnaire were handwritten. Despite us filling out the form accurately using a computer (so that names were written clearly), the prepared drafts were full of very basic mispellings of our names and inconsistencies (i.e. relationships were stated wrong - my father was stated as my wife's father, etc.). We provided amendments via text as we were travelling and didn't have access to a scanner - but Ms. Abbass refused to incorporate them unless we amended the actual draft document by hand and sent it back. + She placed a huge amount of pressure on us to review the documents within two weeks but it took her office over a month to send us the first draft. By the time we received the draft, we were travelling overseas for an extended period of time and it was challenging for us to review the documents in detail. + She was adamant that we would only be allowed to ask for one set of changes because of the limitations of our legal plan. This gave me a lot of cause for concern because 1) I'm not a lawyer and 2) there were so many trivial errors in the original draft. + Ms. Abbass refused to respond to any of my queries on how to answer specific questions after our initial response until I escalated to her office staff and expressed my disappointment with the professionalism of this response. + We received professional communication from Ms. Abbass's personal AOL account, so I had concerns that our personal data was not being securely stored and protected. In the end, I decided to seek another firm to work with. My (again, naive) understanding is that estate plans are pretty significant to implement and fund and I had zero confidence in the way ours was being handled and set up.

I took full advantage of the union members' opportunity at UPS with the list of panel attorneys through the Western Conference of Teamsters Legal Services. We returned to Magany since we had a positive outcome the first time, and she was straightforward about what was needed to get the ball rolling. After the initial documents needed to proceed, Magany's legal team, Adriss, contacted us. We stayed in constant contact via email and over a dozen phone calls from the initial round of drafting, proofreading, signature day, and notary office visits. Though I mentioned to Magany that we had time constraints and a tiny window to work with, she gladly appreciated that information to accomplish our family trust promptly. Check that off the list! Thank you, Magany.
