They weren't busy so we got our food in less than 10 minutes. The food was quite tasty and filling! We've been getting their chicharron burrito since the late 2000's when they were located at the gas station parking lot in San Pablo near Raley's. The burrito is usually a hit or miss when it comes to crunch and chew, but consistently flavorful. We sometimes request for it to be "extra crunchy" which can often translate to the perfect crunchiness or end up being chewy and dry. Regardless, this is still one of our favorite burritos around our area so we always get it. The carne asada in the quesadilla was well seasoned with a hint of smoke. They didn't go cheap on the cheese as well! Horchata was refreshing and not overly sweet. My only gripe about this place is the overcharge on my credit card. ALWAYS ask for a receipt when using your card! I was overcharged $6 for no reason. The amount I was asked to pay was different than the actual card charge. It's definitely not a card processing fee either. I felt the guy taking orders gave himself additional tip without my authorization even though I already gave a couple bucks in their tip jar. Definitely not cool at all despite my continued support and loyalty to their business. Then again, I took it as a lesson learned and won't stop me from coming back again! :)

I saw they had a table and a couple chairs setup, but I think most people just buy food to go. I ordered 1 Carne asada taco $3 and 1 shrimp taco $4. They gave only 1 small plastic container of salsa and there was a sign saying any additional salsa would cost 50 cents each and $1 for chips Hmm ok, its certainly the 1st time I've been to a taco truck that charges for extra salsa. I dont think you usually get free chips from a taco truck, so inguess the extra buck was ok. The tacos were really good, especially the shrimp taco was impressive. It came with 5 medium meaty plump shrimp! Very fresh, not fishy! Yummm yummm! The carne asada taco was good too with good amount of chopped beef. Overall, I was happy with the tacos I got and I liked the flavor of the food. I would certainly come back again to try more items. They have fish tacos, lengua in addition to the usual meat options (pastor, carnitas, chicaron). And yes, they don't only sell tacos but also burritos etc and even some typical Mexican drinks like horchata.

The current menu includes three items sourced locally, and organically: http://www.mamaksf.com/menu.html - The Rojak - The Fauxjak - Toadie In a nutshell, these are Asian salads with pea shoots, bean sprouts, granny smith apples, scallions, mango, jicama, pineapple, crushed peanuts (optional), and sweet-sour-spicy dressing. The difference in the two salads is the Rojak has shrimp paste in the dressing, and Fauxjak doesn't. I had the Rojak and loved the myriad of complimentary flavors and textures. At $5 for the salad, it's definitely a bargain. I also couldn't resist trying a Toadie (don't worry, they aren't the green kind), it's a spicy curry banana fritter. I enjoyed its savory-sweet round house kick of flavors (note, it's quite spicy). If you come across his cart, I highly recommend trying it. People kept walking by with mouth-watering plates, so I had to try a little of everything. Ordered the torta birra (beef sandwich that you dip in a side of sauce), red tacos (beef), and the elote (an all time cup of cheesy corn goodness with spicy crisps on top)! I was surprised they only offered one meat choice (beef) but it was done so well I have zero complaints! The only downside was they were already sold out of churros when we arrived! Our next trip will have to start there ;) Will definitely be returning for more!
