I was matched with a therapist within a week and began sessions soon after. However, my therapist left the practice with no notice and no one from the office contacted me. I showed up for my session, waited in the waiting room for 10 minutes, and then found someone in the front office who informed me of the situation. It is entirely unethical to leave a practice without informing all of your patients. On top of that, for no one from the office to contact me, I am incredibly frustrated. This is not the first time that I have heard of a clinician leaving the Inner You without telling their patients so clearly there are some issues with the practice at large.

I'm going to try to break the silent stigma that the term mental health (or mental illness,) holds over any business or service that supports people with said term. I came here to attend an IPS class for about a week. It lasted from Monday to Friday, 9 to 4:30 and included lunch. The facility is basically a large room that is sectioned off into a few areas with screens and the largest area in the middle open. Small offices, a conference room and a kitchen as well as two bathrooms occupy the rear of the location. It's spruced up with teal paint and a simple saying on the wall to be respectful of others. The first week OASIS Wellness and Recovery Center (what the facility that the MHCARI occupies is called,) was closed for the training. We weren't disturbed by much activity and were bombarded by the information that sustained each minute as the speakers eagerly coaxed our group to understand the concepts. Unfortunately the cold began to steal in (and it was cold this January week.) MHCARI was forced to find sufficient heat when a misunderstanding with the landlord bungled the heating unit getting fixed. Within a circle of portable heaters we role played and talked and listened to the ideas of IPS. At Noon we retired to some tables where we had surprisingly hardy meals like pork stir-fry and rice, lasagna and a salad and other hearty lunch fare. They had coffee and tea for breaks and apples, hard boiled eggs and sometimes yogurt parfaits in the morning. I was told that this wasn't unusual. I was told though that you needed to be a member to be able to have lunch there. We had the choice during the training on certain breaks to participate in Qi Gong or meditation. I took advantage of this. "Providence OASIS offers a variety of activities and groups; a full schedule may be viewed on the Providence OASIS Schedule page. Every day starts out with the option of a Wellness and Recovery Group, and the arts room is open all day. Various interest groups such as Men's and Women's groups, Acting, and Physical Wellness are offered weekly. Qi Gong and meditation are offered in the middle of each day, as well as other times." I have been in chronic back pain going on 8 months now.. no one has been able to give me any relief.. I have seen leanne twice and I already feel a HUGE difference.. she takes her time with me, she listens to me, she truly cares.. I have two small children and ALOT going on.. she takes the time to work out knots that have been in my body for YEARS causing me pain. For the first time in months I am hopeful that I have found someone who is going to lead me to finding my strength again, who is going to lead me to recovery. She is the real deal and I would give this place a try if you're someone who needs results.

Shannan has been our therapist from the beginning and she is very thorough and very kind. I had seen other patients being treated and all the other therapists show the same level of professionalism and care. A good place to get some rehab.
