You name it. The staff are very friendly and pleasant, always on hand to help. I myself am saving up for Xmas (coming to quick) and they have some great ideas for presents too. My advice, save up a bit, put some money aside and go and treat yourself from time to time. At 'House of Fraser' their is something there for everyone!

The prices are very reasonable and can often pick up a lot of bargains, plus they often ahve fantastic offers on. You can also order from their new catalogue if what you want is not in stock. The staff are really helpful and friendly, however there is not always enough tills open so queues can build up.

Its a great shop to pop into as it has practically anything you could need (within reason) such as stationery, toys, household improvement items, plants, sweets, cleaning products, pet foods, etc. I think that the move has been fantastic for both the town and the store, however, the larger size of the store did not fix the problem with queuing as the queues are often quite long and time consuming.

There seems to be a constant sale on at the moment where you can pick up some bargains for work wear but shoes and hand bags remain quite expensive. There's only limited choice in the home department and their stock policy doesn't seem completely effective when trying to check with the staff if something is in stock or not. Still, the staff are always helpful and chatty.

It's a proper 'department' store, like House of Fraser or Debenhams, except more local and a bit smaller. I found some Thomas the tank engine toys in here that I hadn't been able to get anywhere else, and also a really nice Radley bag in the sale that was half price, so it definitely gets the thumbs up from me.

Nowadays I'm not so much for the toys, more for the kitchen bit downstairs, which is excellent, and the perfume department. I went in a couple of weeks ago and had a look at some fancy shoes but the two women at the till there looked at me as though I was a bag lady and needed ejecting. I felt very, very uncomfortable. I think it was because I was wearing linen trousers and flip flops and my hair was a bit messy, but whatever it was, it was like that bit in Pretty Woman where the shoplady is mean to the prozzie. Anyway, Oldrids is a well stocked, well laid out department store, which on the whole is deserving of a visit if you're on a shopping trip and need some knickers or tights or makeup or perfume or a griddlepan, and don't mind paying a bit more for it, or if you just want a cup of coffee in a place where you can peek out over the main pedestrian bit and laugh at the chavs, but beware the grumpy staff is all I'll say. Just to clarify, I'm not a prostitute.
