Most of the food is frozen food, tins or packets. There is no fresh fruit or veg. There are always offers on, such as 5 cans of juice for £1, 2 tins of soup for £1 etc. You can end up buying so much stuff! I never find this shop to be very busy and have never had to wait long in a queue to buy my goods. This is a great shop for stocking up your cupboards at a good price.

As an American, I would expect y'all learn the conversion and tip. They have a low minimum wage here. This place is paradise. It's worth every pound to support their economy! There offer fruit picking, a play area and a cafe. they have a wide range of foods available for picking at different times of the year. A fabulous, huge out door play area with sunken trampolines, slides, sandpits, cars and swings. the also have a great cafe with out door and indoor seating. They sell the most gorgeous strawberry tarts i have ever tasted, and they are huge. infact all there food is lovely and great sized portions. The pricing for the pick your own fruit are very reasonible, infact we went back for more when we realised how little we had spent. in the end we went a bit mad n were handing out strawberrys to the neighbours because we didnt want to waste them. i highly recommend this place, for the strawberry tarts alone, but its a great family day out.

Though I have to admit at times it can be a tinsy bit pricey for those on the budget.... but its so cute and has so many imports you can't find in St. Andrews that the premium is worth it. They have my favourite type of Amaretti cookies which I was super excited about! But I have to say I couldn't afford their Truffle oil (go to Morrisons, they have it too... and cheap but probably not the same quality as the Little Italian Shop). When my parents where visiting we came here and got some cheese and pasta and pesto sauce (and wine of course) and made a meal from this place. And (don't hate me for mentioning it again) but the shop is just so cute that I can't help but love it! Sometimes I get a little worried though when I walk by and I don't see anyone inside.... Stepping foot inside the farm shop you are met with a marvellous mass of colour - succulent strawberries, beautiful blueberries, rosy raspberries and cheery cherries already picked from the surrounding fields and ready to take home. Move past these (if you can, they're on 3 for £6 mix and match!), and you'll find homemade jams, fresh breads and bakes, eggs, vegetables and plenty chilled goodies all screaming to be picked. To my utmost joy I also spotted a coffee machine and with sheltered seating next to the shop in the form of one of the fruit tunnels, I can't think of anything better to do on a sunny afternoon than gaze into the Perthshire countryside with fresh fruit and a cuppa, oh happy days! On the other side of the shop you can also buy some lovely plants and flowers to take away (I'm not very green-fingered so will admit to not spending much time noting the details here!). Okay so if you're thinking that's all very nice sounding, but it seems too much of a trek for you then good news! They park up at one of the Glasgow farmers markets (Partick I believe) too! Next to the strawberries (£2.50 a punnet) are equally as delicious soft fruits grown locally. The friendly lassie serving me knew her honey facts and, although dear at £4.25 for the jar, I left feeling happier knowing my money had gone straight to the buzzing farm up the road. Start off by wandering around the fruit fields - in August, there are tayberries, raspberries (giant and ickle), strawberries, gooseberries, red and blackcurrants to choose from. I believe this will vary due to seasonal changes. Once you have picked 30-40lbs of fruit and eaten 60lbs worth, wander over (hopefully with kids in tow) to the playground where you can entertain yourself with the mega maze (made with maize chortle... well, corn) - this year it is a Spitfire to celebrate the anniversary of the Battle of Britain, but once the crops are harvested, it will be regrown as something new next year. After that, the farmer go-karts, zipline, trampolines, mini hay maze... it's a good day out for the family. There is also a shop and cafe. The cafe is a bit of a disaster area - when we got there, it was heaving, so naturally expected to bring a little drama. However, with 3-4 girls serving from one location behind the counter, it gets a little bit confusing. I ordered a mug of courgette soup (uber salty but otherwise good) and a panini. I was given a wooden spoon with my order number for the panini. However, it was ready before I even managed to pay. At this point, I had one girl trying to give me a mocha and charge me, and another coming in from behind to give me my lunch. As an attack tactic, I applaud, but for serving lunch... not so much and it started to frazzle me out a little. The panini was pretty lacklustre with some rather minty-tasting pesto, and the scone I ordered (yes I had big eyes) was pretty good although the cream to jam ratio was about 200:1 - a little less cream and more jam please. Saying that, overall the food was ok and not super-expensive.

We've been to M&S several times before and always liked the quality - even though a bit pricey sometimes. This one here is medium sized in the middle of Elgin. Fruit, veggy and meat selection is good and they had some really good dry-aged scottish Steaks. Nice cheese plates too for very affordable prices. The rest of the food section was a bit small. Yes, they got everything you need, but not much to choose from - not that much variety. The wine section was a bit of a let-down. Not that much choice and mostly french wines - which i'm not that much into (you can get similar or better quality wines from other countries for less, but that's just my opinion). Staff here was very friendly and helpful. All in all still a good choice, especially for the meat section. But given the choice - I'll go to Tesco again next time (yes...laugh all you want).

When I got home and opened it, the rice had an absolutely foul, rotten smell, it was clearly already spoiled. I then had to go through the hassle of driving all the way back to the store just to return it, wasting my time and fuel for something that should never have happened in the first place. Although they refunded the spoiled meal, I was shocked that they made me pay the difference for the replacement. Selling food that's expiring today and already gone bad is unacceptable and the way this was handled was completely unfair. I've been shopping at Sainsbury's for years and always trusted their standards, but after this experience, they have certainly lost a loyal and valuable customer.

Service is decent, but at a peak time there were nowhere near enough staff at the registers resulting in long queues which was quite annoying.
