This local newsagency has everything you'd expect - the latest magazines, scratchies, gift cards and expensive stationary. All I needed to buy was an oversized envelope, one stamp and a birthday card. Did you know that you can't purchase single stamps nowadays? I mean how often do we send mail these days? Instead of spending 60c on a stamp, you end up spending $6 on a sheet of ten (that you'll probably never use). Venting aside, I found the birthday card easily enough, though the single envelopes are mysteriously found behind the counter. I didn't expect to be able to purchase Darrell Lea chocolates to go with my birthday card. They have a whole section dedicated to these chocolates, enshrined in all their purple and white glory. It's a little difficult to resist that corner, so make sure that the next time you head in to buy the latest Cosmopolitan magazine, that you don't find yourself scratching your head with a box of these in your other hand. read more

Great for last-minute birthday gifts and cards - that Darrel Lea section is a particularly great point for the store. All times I've visited this store, they've had some section or some aisles blocked by staff for restocking or some rearrangement or something - the store hasn't seemed to be 'tidy' (if that's the right word for it?), but its variety of printed products, gifts, cards, and great staff make it a good place to shop at. read more
