I purchased a Living Social voucher for jewelry making classes for this store in April 2013 to be used by end of August of 2013 as a birthday gift for my GF (birthdday in early July) to go and enjoy with her daughter. The classes are on the weekends and cost me30 bucks. She tried to schedule them through the end of July and August leaving multiple messages with the store never received a single call back to schedule for the class. She informed me of this when we had 2 weeks left on the vouchers and I tried to call as well. My GF told me that the store VM stated she was on vacation for part of the month and returning at the end, she would return calls then. Did she return calls at the start of August? Nope. What a waste of money, I contacted Living Social but they were no help, which of course they never are when you have issues like this. We did a wine tasting thing through them prior and the schedule got all out of wack due to a couple of the attendees - cutting short our outing by several hours but did they offer any refunds or perks to those who were on the bad end of the stick? Nope..... We just had to grin and deal. Same here, the store offering the Living Social bargain does not uphold their end of the offer yet no refunds are given. Go figure........ Needless to say we will not be shopping here in the future. read more

When my friend invited me to do this class, I had no idea it would involve hammers and fire! I thought I was going to string some beads on some string or wire. Nothing prepared me for how empowering and fun this experience turned out to be. Cindy is a true artist and wonderful mentor in her craft. She encouraged me to get creative and make anything I wanted. I ended up making a unique pair of spiral earrings with her help. I messed up the first time and rolled my metal wire into splinters, I later learned that happens from too much rolling and not enough heat. That's ok! She helped me melt it down and start over. This woman knows how to ROLL WITH IT, literally. Word of caution: If you want things to turn out perfectly the first time or you get easily frustrated, THIS CLASS ISN'T FOR YOU. But if you're the type of person who can appreciate an imperfect vessel because YOU MADE IT WITH YOUR OWN HANDS, or you appreciate something unique and you want something precious and personal to pass on for generations, then read no further and take one of her classes! We were visiting my son at college from out of town when my watch band broke next to the watch head. I am so thankful I found Cindy to fix it! She had to make a piece in order to get this fixed (not a part that could be order). She is extremely knowledgeable & and her price was very reasonable to get this fixed. My friend Lesli and I bought a living social deal and decided it would be a fun new experience to try. Contacted the owner who scheduled and rescheduled us (due to my friend's busy schedule). Cindy (the owner) was so nice to help reschedule us. When we arrived we were surprised to find out we had a private class just the two of us. Then as the class progressed and we learned how fun yet complex making rings and earrings can be for two rookies with torches we realized why it was just us. Oh how much fun we had! We show off our cool creations wherever we go. People always ask "You actually made that? Too cool!" It was so far the most unique experience I have had. I really enjoyed the expertise of the owner Cindy proctor and her ability to be flexible in having me create a ring while my friend made complex earrings. If I could rate this place zero stars I would. I also bought the Living Social deal in April. They were booked for anything on the weekends until January 2014. The deal expired in August. I was not about to take a day off work for this class! My sister in called in September and was told that they would let us use the voucher but that they were booked out until DECEMBER 2014! Are you kidding me?! This was supposed to be for a June 2013 birthday gift. I was really excited about this and having gone to George Fox I was happy to support Newberg. I've never written a bad review in my life but I just had to do something. I know the voucher was $25, but it's still $25 I'll never see, and a birthday present gone. read more

I have taken two of Cindy's 5 week silversmithing classes, which were both amazing and well worth the cost. It is obvious that Cindy is passionate about what she does and enjoys sharing her knowledge. I had never made jewelry before and certainly never touched a torch and melted metal. Cindy was a very patient and proficient teacher at all stages of the fabrication and encouraged my personal artistic creativity as I developed the final product. I now have a beautiful turquoise and silver ring that I proudly get to tell people that I MADE!! We were both in need of a little R and R, and the owner of the studio was so accommodating, as we had to change our scheduled class time several times. We had such fun--learned about different metals and how they are best used. The owner was so knowledgable and most patient with us.
