Breen's Superette - Now that's a turkey sandwich... On brown bread with stuffing and cranberry mayo... So amazingly good!

This is a quasi-convenience store, quasi-fast food place. I can only speak for the turkey…read moresandwiches. You go to the cash in the store part to order food and pay. There are a couple of tables in an eating area but no table side service. You order, pay, given a number and then proceed to wicket where your number is called and you take your food and go. Turkey is cooked in shop as is the bread. I opted for turkey sandwich (with dressing) and cran-mayo on white bread. Simple and delcious. They offer burgers, fries and the ever popular fries, dressing and gravy. Reasonably priced and tasty. Nothing fancy here but that doesn't matter.

Wow, this place is a hidden secret…read more What appears to be a convenience store on the outside is also a fantastic breakfast and lunch place that does sandwiches on fresh bread and also has dishes such as hot turkey or hot roast beef. My work colleague had mentioned to me that this place is famous for their Breen's famous turkey sandwiches. I was somewhat intrigued to see what this was all about! So I ordered the famous turkey with a pea soup $9.99. You had a choice of cranberry mayo or regular mayo. You pick up your meal from a sliding window that's hilarious (like a prison window). The sandwich came out as a heaping serving of real turkey with stuffing and mayo. The soup was really delicious also. Very thick purée of pea soup in a ham broth with a slightly sweet turnip tasting thick consistency. Overall it was amazing! There is a small area to eat in but fills up very quickly at lunch. The somewhat lack of restaurants in St John's means this place is pretty busy! Come get a Turkey Sandy, you won't be disappointed!

This is for the subway location at 338 Water Street St. Johns Newfoundland. I don't believe all…read moreSubways employ people this bad at customer service so I'm just centering out this location. I ordered a special on the app for three for two subs for my colleague and I as I've done many times before at other locations across Canada. I always just order it when I arrive at the store with the default stuff and then tell them what I want as they are making it. It's easier, especially with three different subs. But this guys says I can't change it one bit as he's making it in front of me and that I'm stuck with the default order. As a result we got a bunch of stuff we didn't want and didn't get the stuff we did want. We didn't even get cheese as it defaults to no cheese. The only reason I ordered on the app is Subway forces you to if you want the special. Don't make any mistakes ordering because it's cast in stone even if they haven't begun making your sub. How rediculous is it that they hire people this mindless. I've never encountered this at any other location and will never be going back to this location again because of it. I'm trying to make a complaint with the head office but it looks like this store is safe from complaints because like the store, the office seems to only employs robots that don't care if the customer is happy

Its the worst Subway to go to in St. John's. You never get what you order it seems or the staff…read morejust doesn't seem to listen as most of the time they're too concerned with everything else but actually making the sub. I've walked away a few times with someone else's sub altogether after they got mixed up, and I've had a sub made a few time with veggies on it I didn't even ask for and when I asked them to pick them off I was pretty much told that its what I asked for. The staff that work the breakfast shift though, hands down have a the greatest grasp on what they're doing. But if you want Subway in the downtown area an other time of the day you better walk the extra few blocks to the next one up the street to get good quality and actual customer service.
