1. Doesn't listen. 2. Doesn't care…read more 3. Talks down to you. 4. Will not prescribe any natural medicines. 5. Believes once they find your "right numbers" TSH that you will be on the same dose for life. ‍ 6. Very expensive and waste of money. 7. Only knowledgeable as to what she is educated on by the drug companies who probably pay her tons to proscribe things like Tirosent (ridiculously expensive) that do not work. Just don't waste your time. Her staff, and her patients are all intimidated by her from what I've seen. She is simply there to make as much money as possible. This is of course only my opinion, based on my personal experiences with this person.

I tracked her down, and she's in a new practice (as of 1/18/16): Overland Park Endocrine and Diabetes Center 10600 Quivira Road Suite 300 OP, KS 66215 I'll give an updated review after my initial appointment in early May 2016. I really hope that Dr. Abraham is a great thyroid doc, and listens as an endocrinologist. 5/24/16: Heard back from the doc's nurse about my blood-work (lab results) and sonogram. Focused on the regular stuff, no real answers or emphasis on my concerns. [ 5/26/16: A *different* doc ID'd that I have adrenal insufficiency, which is exacerbating my hypothyroidism and my hypoglycemia. Hmmm...a doc in a completely different medical field with a holistic POV is helping me feel better....go figure. ] 6/4/16: Meh, I'm really disappointed in my experience with Dr. Abraham. :-( Her office location is a challenge to reach with traffic & construction, then park & reach for a punctual appointment. I'm very surprised that Dr. Abraham made it onto a "good thyroid doctors" list. Whoever listed her must not have had a serious or long-standing thyroid issue. (I've been diagnosed hypothyroid since 2011, with symptoms for many years prior to that.) Dr. Abraham is a cool & calm professional, but she's just another westernized doc who didn't *really listen* to my issues and questions. Although, she did have an awesome model of thyroid issues on her counter from one of the Big Pharma companies. Guess which product it "supported?" She was noticeably upset that I've been on Armour NDT (because I requested it from my last 2 docs). She specifically told me that she would *never* prescribe that type of "unpredictable medicine," and that our synthetic thyroid T4 only Rx options in the US are the best way to go. Baloney!! **I know** what works for *MY body* long-term better than **ANY** MD, PhD, NP, etc. whom I've *ever* seen. Thank God that I believe in being my own medical & health advocate. Bottom line: Waste of my time for appointment, blood for lab work, time for a thyroid sonogram appointment, and 2 $40 co-pays.

Dr. Gebremedhin is an endocrinologist specializing in diabetes and metabolism disorders. I was…read morereferred to him by my neurologist, who is in the same practice, because we've been trying to pinpoint the cause of chronic fatigue that I've experienced for much of the past year. This is a condition that can have many potential causes, including lots of endocrinological ones! I've been very pleased with Dr. Gebremedhin -- he's a good listener and very patient, taking what seems like all the time in the world to go over symptoms and getting a thorough picture of the patient's overall health and everything that may be going on with them. He ordered LOTS of tests, some fairly exotic (the phlebotomist at the lab I used had to call their main office to get the codes and instructions for some of them because they're uncommon). The results came back and I saw Dr. Gebremedhin to find out what they were. Again, he was very patient and thorough about explaining what the results mean. As a result of the tests it was possible to rule out numerous causes of the fatigue I've been experiencing and narrow it down to only a few possibilities. I've started treatment for one of them and feel confident that we're on the right track to figuring this out and getting back to being my usual energetic self! I particularly like that Dr. Gebremedhin is being conservative about prescribing and isn't just throwing meds at my symptoms. I'm currently taking quite a few meds for other conditions (like they say, aging ain't for sissies) and really want to keep it all down to the essential minimum. Meanwhile, I'm going to give this first treatment a try and will be returning to see him in a couple of months, hopefully with good results to report! If you want a careful, thorough endocrinologist, I can recommend Dr. Gebremedhin. You can see more about his background on his website. Dr. Gebremedhin is originally from Ethiopia, but also trained at Loma Linda in California before coming to Kansas City. He does have a bit of an accent, but speaks slowly and clearly and makes sure you understand everything he's saying. I'm very pleased to have found him, and, as I said, I'm feeling very encouraged that there's a solution to this very annoying fatigue issue!
