After searching though every shop in Canterbury and being unable to find shoes for my daughters' (wide feet) I went to Peter Newman's as a last hope and was pleasantly suprised. Not only did they have a great selection of sizes and styles but their prices were fantastic. The staff are so helpful and spent over half an hour (at least) finding the right shoes. I bought two pairs of top brand makes (Sart-rite and Hush Puppies) for under £30. Bargain!

The prices in Baydis are actually very reasonable and I have often found products to be cheaper in Baydis than in Homebase (paint rollers, satin paint, sandpaper etc). They are quite a small shop but stock a large selection of the little bits and bobs you need when completing any form of DIY. This is complimented by the fact that the shop assistants are very knowledgeable and will assist you when trying to find the right item. If you need a specialist paint or anything that is hard to find in Homebase or B&Q then the likelihood is Baydis will stock it. I am glad this shop is continuing to do well considering there is a Homebase just up the road. It has the feel of a proper DIY shop and has earned itself many regular customers. I strongly recommend you check your local traders before going to nationals.
