Dr. Ehlers spend over an hour with me at our first consultation and her pre-appointment docs asked many questions never addressed by a "regular" MD. I felt her interest in my health and goals was very sincere. After a multitude of tests, we had a follow-up appointment approximately a month later and I feel very hopeful about the results we will attain. Dr. Ehlers' plan is only for those serious about their health and nutrition. It isn't inexpensive going this route, but when I consider the multiple presciptions written by doctors to cover up the symptoms and the quality of life, it really is worth the investment in me. If you want to take control of your health, you will not go wrong by meeting with Dr. Ehlers.

I was told by the…read morereceptionist, "The nurse said they will not give you any narcotics just because you asked for them, because the IUD shouldn't be that painful anyway." If you are a woman considering an IUD, and you have not had a baby before, do not go to this clinic. If you are planning to use this clinic, and you have questions about the pain of this procedure, do not ask. They will assume you are drug seeking. I had my first IUD done at Robert A Mesropian Center for Community Care, in New Hampshire. Because of my size and the fact that I have never had a child, they wanted me to use a dilator the night before the procedure. I didn't know, and I didn't apply the pill until the next morning. When they put the IUD in, I was in so much pain that I threw up, and I cramped for the rest of the day. I wasn't given any narcotics from that doctor though, and there's no reason why I would expect that a new doctor would give any narcotics. But, it seems that they also don't offer any dilator's before the procedure, and this is what I wanted to get clear on. Based on my last experience, I would be too afraid to do the procedure without a dilator. Given my past experience, it's reasonable why I would be overwhelmed as I prepare to have the old IUD removed and a new one put in. It's unfortunate that the receptionist is more concerned with trying to "out" potential drug seekers than answering the questions of prospective patients. When it comes to smaller, more personal clinics, the most important thing is feeling safe as a patient. I would never be able to feel safe to share my concerns at this clinic, so there would never be a reason for me to ever go here. Anyone with similar feelings or concerns should also avoid this clinic. Planned Parenthood was much more helpful and supportive on the phone. They do not offer dilator's before their IUD procedures, but it was really easy for me to get that information. They were very kind and understanding as I explained my situation. I may just go back to New Hampshire to have it done. I will also say that I told the receptionist that I would get a recommendation from the doctor who did my first one, in order to verify how unusual my IUD experience was. I don't even think the receptionist heard me. She literally just repeated that the procedure shouldn't be that painful. I don't even know if this clinic offers dilators before the procedure, to be honest. They very well might! So, it really just speaks to the importance of professionalism on the part of the front desk.

I can't even begin to properly convey how problematic my short time with PA has been, but I'll try…read more I underwent ADHD testing in February, and I was diagnosed officially, as well as with social anxiety and rejection sensitive dysphoria. The provider was thoughtful, on time and generally competent. Then it all went horribly wrong. As part of my treatment, I was referred to a therapist and a prescriber, both within the PA system. I first had my appointment with the therapist. I showed up on time, checked in, and waited. There was a sign at reception saying that if you have not been called back 10 minutes after the appointment start time, to let them know. At the 10 minute mark, I flagged them down, and they said that they would call the therapist again. Ten minutes later, she had still not come out even though reception kept calling her. My anxiety went through the roof, and I ended up leaving without ever being seen. I was rescheduled with another therapist, who then canceled my appointment the day before. I was rescheduled for 2 weeks later. My session was...weird. I believe the purpose of therapy is to allow the patient to talk, but the therapist seemed to make it a game to try to finish my sentences before I could. In the meantime, I have been receiving paper invoices when I specifically directed that for privacy purposes any billing statements be emailed or texted. HIPAA allows a patient to direct the format communications come in, and PA have completely disregarded my wishes. Both visits were denied by my insurance because the primary reason for the visits was noted as something completely different from the actual purpose. I'm not sure if it was a play to get more reimbursement, but it seems awfully shady. I requested both be resubmitted, and only one has, despite my repeated requests. Time is running out on the resubmission, so it looks like I'm going to be out several hundred dollars. I requested a refill of medication through Amazon pharmacy, which I have used for years. Amazon attempted to contact PA many times and they never responded, resulting in my having to go without my medication. Thankfully, I was able to explain the situation to my GP and he called in a script for me. They STILL have not called Amazon back. Another prescription was called into the wrong pharmacy, one that I do not have a relationship with so it took a while to get to the bottom of where it was sent and why no one called me about it. I called 11 days ago to speak to them about all the issues and the resubmission for insurance. I was told someone would get back to me that day as it was a priority. No call back. Ever. I called today to speak to them about the ongoing issues. I was told I would speak with a member of management. After being on hold for a lengthy period, I hung up. That was 3 hours ago and now the office has closed. Please stay far away. I wish I had. This level of incompetence, particularly with mental health services, would be laughable if it were not so damaging.

We have the best healthcare in the USA right here in Iowa City, and at our age, this is the highest priority. We especially appreciate the blood drawing staff at the IRL Laboratory. The doctors are top notch. The building itself is well maintained and updated. I love the art throughout, as well. Absolutely no complaints. The fam popped in for flu shots and COVID boosters a few weeks ago (which I conveniently booked online via My Chart) and we got in with a minimal wait. The nurse was wonderful. Going to the doctor isn't always painless-- but this location helps make it more so.

I thought I'd give it a try - for me, results almost immediate - the sit on the couch veg with TV when I used to be a type A went away - it was the old me. They take blood work every so weeks to be sure all is okay. Staff is five star! Sex wise not like you're 19 but vast improvement. They had snacks on Vets Day and today when they found out I was part of the government shutdown and not getting paid they waived my January co-pay. Now that's a class act!
