I took the NJ316 from 10th & Market St. in PHL all the way to Cape May Visitors Center & it couldn't have gone smoother, bus was on time & easy to find, if you're taking SEPTA from the airport get off at Jefferson, take the exit marked Jefferson & 10th, take the escalator up to the mall, at the top make a U turn & you'll exit at 10th, turn right, cross the street, turn right again & wait at that 1st bus shelter, very easy, bus was numbered & easy to see, it was a good experience.....the buses are clean & they do make a couple of rest stops, one at the NJ bus terminal & one at the Wildwood stop read more

The good news was the train was on time. The bad news: the luggage racks are so slim you cannot fit luggage on the double decker trains, the windows are cloudy so you cannot see out of them, the conductor mumbles so you cannot understand any of the station announcements, the station ticker did not work and some of the trains are filthy! After leaving the Acela train from Baltimore Maryland, I boarded the Atlantic City NJ Transit train. I arrived in Philadelphia at 7:35. I saw the A.C. train, which was on the same platform but on another track, so I boarded the Train. The announcement to have your tickets ready came over the loud speaker. The conductor began to ask for tickets. Since I didn't take a chance on missing the train by going up the stairs, to the main floor of the 30th station, to purchase a ticket and return to the train, a handed the conductor my fair in cash and indicated that I would be purchasing a senior citizen ticket. He asked for identification, and I showed him my driver's license. He accepted my fair and then said, "Next time, purchase the ticket before you get on the train." I told him because I had just gotten off a train. He had ordasity to say, "Yes, you did. I saw you up stairs". I was appalled at his response. I am a 68 year old female who resides in N.J. I have taken these trains for over 50 years. I have never been accused of fabricating a story to avoid purchasing a train ticket. What I will do is call NJ Transit this morning at 8:31am. and make a complaint about this incident. read more

I must say that not all but some nj transit drivers are worthless. It's bad enough you gotta run from the train station to the bus stop some 15 minutes if your disabled. if you run if you can it's a 8 minutes out of breath. Run.. I have to say this bis driver on bus 17089 was the worst. She had no heart to open them doors as I was at the back wheel yelling too wait which she won't. then pulling out I went to the light and she had a second to let me on as the light was red. She kept saying no.. well no class here or customer service...I must say taking the car is better than these entitled idiots driving. I have had a few really good driver's before as i take the bus once a week. And as you can see on these reviews, NJ transit needs an overhaul in customer service. A few rotten ones spoils the rest of the good driver's. Out here that are curtious and safe. To let someone miss time and I must say 10;55am. she left 4 minutes to soon as well.she really deserves to lose a week pay then any more times after thus incident she continues to do note then a suspended time off. After that a transfer then fired. personally this comes from 35 yrs experience in the transportation field both driver and terminal manager. I know we love in troubled times but this going on is pathetic. Two hour gaps in service mid rush hour to and from Philadelphia. Ancient equipment. Opaque windows. Poor or no connecting bus service at outbound stations. Missing pedestrian bridge over tracks at Cherry Hill to get to a high density Garden State housing complex. Delays caused by bridge opening on Delaware. Overall dismal support from NJT and from elected officials who will never follow up if you complain. read more

Okay. Get off the train, dodge the homeless and get right out to your casino shuttle. Whew you have made it pass the zombies and onto level 2. 300 points. On your return. Make sure to stop and get a drink and or nosh in your casino or at starbucks before you get here. Try to get here twenty minutes or less before your train. You do not want to be waiting here any longer. Avoid eye contact. Study and read a timetable if you have to. The store that used to be open that sold lukewarm everything has shut down....gee big surprise here. Once on train, sigh, relief, sit on the right side of the train and view the pretty white egrets in the marsh. They are the white birds that look like cranes. Be nice to your train conductor. Say hello and ask how they are. They are humans and have to put up with zombies and riffraff. Travel straight back to Philly, unless you want some Lindenwold excitement? More zombies. New Jersey Transit is NOT maintaining social distancing. Took the 319 from Atlantic City to NYC at 1 PM and go5 there an hour early to ensure a seat--and the bus operated at full capacity, strangers sitting next to strangers. If I had known I never would have purchased tickets. read more

The only problem I have with this place is that it was hard to find. Other than that, it was a great place to catch the train from Atlantic City to Philly. Nice train ride for only $10. That's much cheaper than my friends taking me back to the airport. I'll definitely be using them again. It's definitely the way to go from Philly to Atlanta City and back. Lots of trains daily. The trains on the Atlantic City rail line to Philadelphia are the horrors! The seats don't recline at all causing people to get cramps in their legs and necks and back. The customer service though is very friendly. Need better trains asap! read more

This review pertains to the NJ Transit Atlantic City line, operating seven days per week from Philadelphia 30th Street and Cherry Hill (Shop Rite) to Atlantic City, with a few additional stops on the way. The AC line is scheduled sporadically, but it does run rather efficiently. The AC station is presentable (much cleaner and more serviceable than the bus depot) and the seats on the trains are comfortable. The one way trip advance purchase ticket costs (as of 2012) no more than $5.00 or $6.00 to any of the NJ destinations, $8.00 to 8th/Market via PATCO connection, or $10.00 to go all the way in to 30th Street station staying on this line. (There is a $5 surcharge for paying on the trains. Don't do that, there are many ticket machines that take cash, credit, and debit.) The train is even cheaper than the bus, and certain NJT bus will also accept train tickets which only helps if you're stranded because the train only runs every 90 minutes, or less often. This line operates like an express train and that's part of the reason why I call it the quickest way to get to the shore. A new stop in Pennsauken serves make this route more accessible to more people because it provides a point of transfer to get to and from Trenton and other points northward. For now, it is a luxury to be enjoyed by anyone who lives along its few stopping points. read more

HIT & RUN!!!----8/29/17---Worse experience ever. Buses to Elizabeth leaving Woodbridge Center Mall @ 8:20 left 11 minutes early shocking people standing at the bus early waiting for the bus to pull up for its departure. Instead it started its engine up @ 8:09 & flew like a bat out of hell almost running down a couple finishing their shopping crossing the street to get to their car causing the women's shopping bags to go flying all over the street . To add to that mayhem the bus customers some of them seniors who were waiting in the cold & rain & absolutely deplorable weather conditions who were waiting for the bus started panicking running after the bus..i kept yelling its coming back because I thought it must be going on another short brake as it still had 10 minutes left before leaving. They were right to panic as it turns out that the bus was actually taking off with people waiting in plain sight!!! One senior kept chasing the bus & fell injuring her leg & back. The police were called as was the ambulance & our names taken as witnesses to what will be a massive lawsuit against this company & its negligent driver. Now the seniors & myself have to wait yet another hour in the cold & rain. . How senseless was all this?! We were there EARLY. ...waiting!! New Jersey Transit doesn't care about its clients. ...but perhaps this lawsuit sure to come will help change their apathetic outlook. read more

Just last week a passenger was told to stop cursing during his phone call and if you are speaking too loud you will be asked to keep it down. After a long trying train ride from Virginia on Amtrak. I get to Philadelphia to catch the New Jersey transit train to Lindenwold. And apparently they've been having issues with this train prior to me getting on it. The train broke down in the middle of nowhere. We had to wait for an oncoming train out of Philadelphia so we can get off The Brokedown train. After waiting over an hour for the train to arrive. We were waiting for them to hook both trays up so they could push the broken down train. The train kept cutting off because it was getting a sensor from the train in front to stop. So once that train stopped we had to stop and they had to reset the system. And resetting the system took 45 minutes to do we were traveling 20 mph. Once I got to my stop in Lindenwold they had everyone unloaded and put on the train that was behind us. My train was supposed to arrive in Lindenwold at 5:30 PM it did it it got there closer to 10:00 PM. Between Virginia and getting home I was on the train well over 12 hours because of this broken down train that had issues the week before it had broke down on a Thursday. This place is absolute garbage and you could say the same about the employees. After buying two tickets to get back home at 2 pm we were weirded out by the fact that around 1:55 they hadn't made any announcements. We approached the booth and an employee by the name of Tony told us they will make an announcement at 2pm and that the bus is leaving a little late. At 2 pm we see the bus leave and as we approach Tony to ask if that was our bus he laughed and said we should have known. And refused to give us a refund. They are thieves and they are useless as you can expect from any government owned service. Save yourself the headache and take a greyhound instead. read more

I have traveled all over the world and it makes me sad at the state of NJ public transportation. The Atlantic City station is consistently filthy with homeless people sleeping on the benches and in the doorways. The shelter is a block away and there are NJ transit police around so I don't know why they let them sleep and hang out in the entrance to the city, it certainly sets a poor tempo to any visit to Atlantic City. The conductors range from pleasant to drunk and nasty. The ticket seller in the station got mad at me recently because the train board said the train was "45 minutes late" and I had the audacity to ask when the departure time was. As for departure and arrival times, they are estimated at best. How can Germany and Japan run trains and freak out if they are 5 mins behind, but in NJ 15 mins late on your workday is just the cost of riding the train. Seeing as how much of the train is subsidized with tax dollars, I wish there was more accountability to poor performance. The only upside is cost. I moved out of the city to Cherry Hill and it's only $7 each way to commute, but you damn well better leave early if you want to arrive to work on time. read more

I take the 5 mile trip from Hoboken to Meadowlands once a year. I always have issues. Today we were stuck in Secaucus for 1/2 hour for no apparent reason. I could almost walk to the stadium in less time. How difficult is it to move people 5 miles? Apparently, it is a monumental task! read more
