    NJ Atlantic City Train
    Sheila J.

After leaving the Acela train from Baltimore Maryland, I boarded the Atlantic City NJ Transit train. I arrived in Philadelphia at 7:35. I saw the A.C. train, which was on the same platform but on another track, so I boarded the Train. The announcement to have your tickets ready came over the loud speaker. The conductor began to ask for tickets. Since I didn't take a chance on missing the train by going up the stairs, to the main floor of the 30th station, to purchase a ticket and return to the train, a handed the conductor my fair in cash and indicated that I would be purchasing a senior citizen ticket. He asked for identification, and I showed him my driver's license. He accepted my fair and then said, "Next time, purchase the ticket before you get on the train." I told him because I had just gotten off a train. He had ordasity to say, "Yes, you did. I saw you up stairs". I was appalled at his response. I am a 68 year old female who resides in N.J. I have taken these trains for over 50 years. I have never been accused of fabricating a story to avoid purchasing a train ticket. What I will do is call NJ Transit this morning at 8:31am. and make a complaint about this incident.

HIT & RUN!!!----8/29/17---Worse experience ever. Buses to Elizabeth leaving Woodbridge Center Mall @ 8:20 left 11 minutes early shocking people standing at the bus early waiting for the bus to pull up for its departure. Instead it started its engine up @ 8:09 & flew like a bat out of hell almost running down a couple finishing their shopping crossing the street to get to their car causing the women's shopping bags to go flying all over the street . To add to that mayhem the bus customers some of them seniors who were waiting in the cold & rain & absolutely deplorable weather conditions who were waiting for the bus started panicking running after the bus..i kept yelling its coming back because I thought it must be going on another short brake as it still had 10 minutes left before leaving. They were right to panic as it turns out that the bus was actually taking off with people waiting in plain sight!!! One senior kept chasing the bus & fell injuring her leg & back. The police were called as was the ambulance & our names taken as witnesses to what will be a massive lawsuit against this company & its negligent driver. Now the seniors & myself have to wait yet another hour in the cold & rain. . How senseless was all this?! We were there EARLY. ...waiting!! New Jersey Transit doesn't care about its clients. ...but perhaps this lawsuit sure to come will help change their apathetic outlook.

Andrea T said it all. However, it's the only option if you're taking train to AC.

Greyhound is absolutely beyond awful. I started riding it between NYC and Atlantic City in 1990…read more It was pretty good then, especially the NY to AC leg. The AC to NY leg was never very reliable. But service decayed materially over time. They were constantly late to the point that it was almost NEVER on time. I mean EVER. In NY, there's a big ticket office, so you used to be able to go in and ask WTF was going on. Sometimes, they actually knew. In recent years, the line seems to have just about collapsed. You can't call any number to find out the status of your grossly delayed bus and there are very few places where there are humans at your departure location. Call the 800 number? Can't (actually won't) help you. Don't know anything. It's as if they think you are stupid. It's pretty obvious that they know where every one of their buses are just due to GPS technology. If a valuable bus went missing I promise you they'd know exactly where to find it. It's also common sense to know with absolute certainty that every depot from which buses are dispatched have telephones and actual "dispatchers". Forget about that track my bus tech they have on their site. it will NEVER help you find out why your bus is late or when it will arrive from the point of origin. EVER. Finding out where a one hour late bus is should not be a problem AT ALL. There should be a way to make an 800 call to someone who could call a depot and speak to a dispatcher. BUT NO..... And let's not forget about the condition of the buses. Seats frequently broken. Buses typically filthy. Drivers commonly angry and harsh. I've come to conclude that Greyhound views their typical passenger as lower class powerless people who can't do anything to harm them. And with all the degraded service - fewer buses scheduled included - they nearly doubled the price!!!!! I've found using the government run NJ Transit buses far more satisfying. They are clean and not broken. The WiFi actually works, unlike GH which is hit or miss - mostly miss. They are mostly on time and get you there more reliably even with a stop or two. if they are late, you can find out why and when to expect arrival. they are cheaper. They have a senior discount. I suspect this is what happens when elected officials who are answerable to the people run the line. Unless aggravation and being treated as a subhuman is your bag, stay the heck away from GH. It's a wonder they are still in business.

While rides were pleasant enough, there were two instances where drivers were exceptionally rude either to me, other passengers onboard or even people passing by. My first experience was taking the free Jitney from the AC train station. After letting some people off at Resorts, a passerby, possibly homeless started becoming aggressive towards the driver as he thought the Jitney was moving too closely to him as it backed up. The driver responded by driving quickly back towards this guy, like he was using the vehicle as a weapon. Then both the driver and the guy both exchanged several curse words, both yelling at the top of their lungs. What made matters worse is that the driver did not take me to my hotel, since it wasn't a casino. Instead, I had to walk with my luggage from near the Absecon Lighthouse to my hotel - the Wyndham Skyline Tower - a distance of almost a mile! My second experience was after The Who show at the Boardwalk Hall. After getting onboard, I tried to use the Jitney app and the extremely rude driver kept yelling at me to show me that I paid for the ride. I ended up paying for two rides as I was unfamiliar how to scan the ticket. While I would like to believe that most AC Jitney drivers are good workers, these two really were among the worst I've ever experienced. That's says something, since I use public transit alot and worked in the public transportation industry for nearly 25 years.

They don't allow people to stand so if the small bus is full you have to wait for the next bus. We saw a lot of different buses throughout our stay in Atlantic city. I thought it would be mostly tourists utilizing the buses but there were a lot of locals which is great for the community. The jitney was cheaper than uber and Lyft and we took advantage of this mode of transportation and would use it again when we're in the area.
