Even…read moreafter moving three times, I still make the commute to his Clifton and Little Falls offices -- and it's well worth it. Like many people, I slacked on dental visits during Covid and unfortunately paid the price. I ended up needing my first dental implant, and while I was nervous about the surgery (I'll admit I was a bit of a chicken!), I knew I was in the best hands. To my surprise -- it didn't hurt at all. Honestly! For context, my tooth had been previously extracted by a different dental group during an emergency, and that did hurt a little. But the implant with Dr. Shahmehdi was completely pain-free. I trust him with all my dental care -- bonding, fillings, the implant, and everything in between. He's honest, skilled, caring, and truly brilliant. His staff is also top-notch: professional, kind, and helpful. Also, they accepted my CareCredit card and offered 0% financing, which really helped since my dental implant wasn't covered by insurance. If you're looking for a trustworthy, talented dentist who genuinely cares about his patients -- look no further. Dr. Shahmehdi is the one

My first visit went smoothly -- I received a cleaning and a brief consultation. After that, I was informed that the office would submit an approval request to my insurance for the recommended work, and I requested an estimate for my out-of-pocket costs. When I followed up to schedule the next appointment for the procedure, I spoke with Basima (apologies if misspelled). She claimed she had been trying to reach me, which I found questionable since no voicemail or message had ever been left. Without my confirmation, she scheduled another consultation appointment with a different dentist. I decided to proceed despite the lack of communication. During this visit, I realized there had been a change in providers, though no one had informed me of the transition. I saw two different dentists to discuss treatment options and next steps. The plan was for the office to send updated information to my insurance company. Unfortunately, it took nearly two months before I received any update about what was covered and what my payment responsibility would be. Throughout that time, I communicated frequently with Destiny, who was helpful and kept me as informed as possible. However, it was clear that there was a lack of coordination between her and Basima. The day before my appointment, I called for confirmation and spoke with Basima again. She confidently quoted me an out-of-pocket cost, but when I asked for clarification about the procedure details, her explanation didn't align with what had previously been discussed. Even the dentist seemed uncertain about what work was being performed. This immediately raised concerns about the practice's organization and communication. Later that same day, I was informed that the treatment plan had changed entirely -- without any discussion or explanation -- and my copay had increased from $600 to over $4,000 within just a few hours. To make matters worse, I learned that incorrect information had been submitted to the insurance company based on the previous provider's notes rather than the new dentist's plan. Despite Destiny's efforts to explain, I continued to notice inconsistencies that suggested the staff was trying to correct or conceal earlier mistakes. While I do not doubt the clinical abilities of the dentists, the lack of transparency and professionalism in communication has completely diminished my confidence in this practice. I am extremely disappointed with how my case was handled and no longer feel comfortable continuing care here.

All Dr. Dalbon is a nightmare. False expectations set by…read morehim, a could care less dentist and staff, money and time wasted is the bare beginnings of explaining my terrible experience with Dr. Dalbon, his office assistant Krystal, and his office manager Nikki. Dr. Dalbon and staff should be ashamed of themselves for the distress they've caused me. I'm not sure how they sleep at night and live with themselves knowing how they've caused me such duress but the answer is they probably sleep soundly knowing they overcharge for subpar services. I was moving and let Dr. Dalbon know before I went through the appointment for a veneer. If I knew that he was going to hack my tooth and not be able to fulfill the timeline he provided of 2 weeks I would never have gone through with him. I even had another dentist appointment at my new location to do the work and Dr. Dalbon said it'd only be 2 appointments plus the night guard is included because I did Invisalign with him. Dr. Dalbon is more expensive than other dentists. $2560 is on the high side of a range for a single veneer. It would've been cheaper to do it at another location and just pay for the retainer I needed but I decided to stick with him since he said it's just 2 apipointments and they're only 2 weeks apart. I thought this would be more convenient and I was very wrong. I'm sharing my personal experiences and they are 100% factual and backed by my notes/ corroborated by my friends and family. Dr. Dalbon promised me my procedure would be done in 2 weeks. At the first appointment he sawed my tooth in half and gave me a temp. We made an appointment for 2 weeks from that day to do the veneer. His team called me that the lab was delayed and he was on vacation this appointment was pushed out 1 month. I had already spent $185 on the ticket to this appointment as it was preplanned and I didn't think there was a possibility of a delay based on how Dr. Dalbon confidently explained the process. I wouldn't have agreed to this if I had known as I had business travel planned every month following. When I was able to make the next appointment 6 weeks later the veneer didn't fit. Dr. Dalbon struggled to make a tooth- like temp at this time. I left in tears because I couldn't spend more time allowing him to drill at my mouth. Krystal (office assistant) offered me a hug and said I did the right thing speaking up. I declined the hug and simply left in tears. I have had anxiety since this time as I paid up front for this cosmetic service that was going totally opposite of how Dr. Dalbon explained it. No one ever called to follow up on when the veneer would be fixed. I actually wasn't upset because of the veneer fit I was actually moreso upset that Dr. Dalbon had to redo my temp almost 4 times and tried to send me out of his office with a temp tooth that looked like a chunk of gum. I was in tears and anxious because I was late to work due to how long it took and I paid a high price just to have a ridiculous temp tooth for an indefinite period of time while they make a new veneer. The dentist told me he was going to make it up to me next time. His assistant Krystal offered me a hug and told me I did the right thing by saying something. I said no and left with tears in my eyes. I still needed to come back for another appointment so I would no longer have half a tooth or a temp plus I had paid for services in advance. No one called me to schedule it. After 2 weeks of waiting I decided to call. The office manager Nikki said Dr. Dalbon felt so bad he wanted to reimburse me for my flight. Dr. Dalbon traumatized me and when I came back for the final appointment I just needed it to be over with so I signed the consent so I could have a full permanent tooth. My original tooth looked and fit better. After it was done I let his assistant Krystal know that this has been the worst experience of my life I mentioned that I thought it was so rude that they never even called me to make this appointment and she said she made it herself. I asked her if she really did bc if Krystal checks her system she'll see that Nikki made it. She said she did and if this is true Krystal is falsifying records as she said that she made an appointment for me before I left however I left there running out crying and did not confirm an appointment at that time. My call logs and emails from them of appointment reminders confirm that there was no appointment made. I let Krystal know that I need to be compensated for the time that I had a temp tooth and it kept falling out- the money I had to spend at emergency dentists to get it fixed, the extra time I spent with the dentist drilling at my tooth because he felt like it was acceptable to make a tooth that didnt match my mouth, not to mention my time. He knows he didn't give me an acceptable temp 4x we he would show me and I asked him if he really lets people leave with teeth that look like this and he said, "no."

She made sure I was happy and comfortable for the whole time I was with her. She took my photos, gave me X-rays, and scanned my mouth for a simulation on how my teeth will look after Invisalign. The whole time this was going on, I got to enjoy watching TV (which was placed perfectly right in front of my chair. From there, Dr. Dalbon came in and introduced himself! He was so kind, very informative, and honest about what he felt the future might look like for me. He and Courtney did my teeth charting, he also checked my gum health, provided an oral cancer screening, and gave me a head and neck exam. I was BEYOND impressed! After this, I moved into a new room to get my teeth cleaned. I was greeted by a lovely dental hygienist Nicole. She took my bag to hang up for me, offered me a blanket to get cozy and keep warm, and she gave me a choice of essential oils that she would dab onto my dental bib so I can have a pleasant smell during my time with her! Have you EVER had this experience at a dentists office before? On top of how amazing she made me feel, she was incredibly thorough! She even gives her clients breaks while cleaning their teeth so you don't feel like your choking from your mouth being open for too long (which is great because I hate that when I get my teeth cleaned. The final interaction I had was with the amazing girls at the front desk. I switched my insurance about a month ago so I was unfamiliar with my new policy. The girls were so patient with me and they helped me more than I would have expected.. they called numerous places for me to try and help me figure out my policies and etc. Over all I recommend this center and their staff to everyone. You will not regret your decision to be a patient of Dr. Dalbon and staff. Get ready for the best dental experience of your life!
