The office is beautiful, and the staff is always friendly and professional. My only issue was, I wasn't examined by Dr. Evans. Brittani completed my examination, and although she was great, she wasn't the doctor. I felt really strange having her complete my pelvic examination. I'm sure she's thoroughly trained , however she's not a MD trained in Gynecology. Is this the new normal? Are no longer seeing the OB/GYN but instead seeing the NP. I'm feeling uncomfortable with this! Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but when I make an appointment with the doctor, I expect to actually see the doctor!

Double-points if it was something close to home! Enter Sweetwater OB/GYN. I've only visited this practice to do a few quick re-PAPs, so my visits so far have been short 'n sweet. Their primary location here on Southwest Freeway is lovely, very spacious, and clean. I've also been to their secondary location on Grand Parkway (17510 West Grand Parkway, Suite 330), located inside Memorial Hermann, which is smaller and has more of an "office" feel. *TAKE NOTE: their secondary location is a timeshare office, so Sweetwater OB/GYN is ONLY THERE ON TUESDAYS.* The only hiccup I ever experienced with this practice was the receptionist neglecting to tell me this very important piece of information, so you can imagine my annoyance when I showed up there for my appointment one Thursday and tried to explain my case to the confused bone & joint pain staff that was using the office that day. As far as staff goes, everyone (except for that one receptionist, I suppose) has been so incredibly friendly and helpful - whether in-person or over the phone. Dr. Shannon Crowe is my doctor: she works quickly and efficiently, but she's a bubbly ray of sunshine and her bedside manner is very pleasant. My PAPs have always returned normal, so I was understandably distressed when I received my first ever non-normal result, but Dr. Crowe comforted me by listening to my concerns and educating me on the 3 different PAP results, their potential causes, and their potential meanings. A few visits later, everything seems normal again - thank goodness! On another note, I love Sweetwater OB/GYN's online patient portal: you'll receive an email when your results are ready to view and all you need to do is log on and take a look. However, a downside to this practice is that they outsource their labwork, so don't be surprised if you receive a bill for any labwork done a month or so after your visit. Although my visits have been brief, I've enjoyed my experience with Sweetwater OB/GYN so far. OB/GYN visits are usually soooo awkward and undignified - no gal enjoys sitting on a cold metal table, butt-naked under a paper sheet! The staff and providers at Sweetwater OB/GYN actually bring some warmth to your visit, and it's great to finally have a doctor who is willing to sit down and actually listen to your concerns. I'm looking forward to continuing this open and honest relationship with Dr. Crowe when hubby and I are ready to start a family in a few years!
