To be fair, I've had nothing more than a cup of hot spiced cider here on one cold Saturday afternoon. The gentleman who served me was so very nice... he went downright out of his way to find the right-sized lid to fit my Styrofoam cup. Yes, he was such a kindly sort of fellow, so earnest and friendly, that I almost couldn't believe what a cringe-worthy drink he'd served me once I finally managed to taste it (the lid had no hole in it, which also made the experience a tad problematic).
Ugh... I'm not sure if this concoction was done in by too much clove, or too much mace, or too much of both... but once I finally began sipping the lukewarm liquid, I couldn't even stand to swallow as much as a quarter of the cup's amber contents (and this was a *very* small cup) - it was just that awful.
Again, this one run-in with a rather bad spiced beverage is my only experience with this stall - but I'm really don't believe a cider vendor selling that surly stuff is making a very convincing case for itself when it comes to other cider matters.... read more
