We couldn't be happier with the work Jonathan did on our landscaping project. This was a very large…read moreand extremely complex project, involving extensive concrete work, hardscaping, landscaping, lighting, and the coordination of numerous subcontractors. Jonathan handled it exceptionally well from start to finish. One of the things that really sets Jonathan apart is his ability to understand a customer's vision and turn it into reality. He is genuinely willing to take on challenges and explore solutions that may be outside the typical scope of landscape construction. Rather than steering customers toward what is easiest or most familiar, Jonathan takes the time to understand what they want and works hard to figure out how to make it happen. That willingness to go beyond his comfort zone in order to deliver what the customer envisions is something we really appreciated. Despite the size and complexity of the job, he completed the project on time and within budget, which is something that is increasingly hard to find in landscape construction. The quality of the workmanship was excellent, and he was committed to making sure everything was done right. What really impressed us, though, was what happened two years after the project was completed. We recently had a few landscape lights that needed attention, and Jonathan came out and repaired them at no charge. He certainly didn't have to do that two years after completing the project, but he wanted to make sure everything was still working properly and that we were happy. That really says a lot about the kind of person and business owner he is. I would highly recommend Jonathan to anyone looking for someone who can take on a large, complicated landscape construction project and deliver. He is hardworking, creative, takes pride in his work, stands behind what he builds, and genuinely cares about his customers. If you have a vision for your property and want someone who is willing to take on the challenges of making that vision a reality, Jonathan is the person I would recommend. We would absolutely use him again.

We set an appt for Sunday, I was already impressed! Sunday no one showed at our appt time, so I sent a text. He claimed that he thought the appt was the day before, either way, I was home all day, no one called or texted. He said he tried, but neither went through. I gave him another chance, we set a time for Monday, the next day. At 1:20pm I got a text confirming he would be there at 3pm. No one showed. He never answered the phone or returned my text to see if everything was ok. I sent a long text the next day, no response at all. This is low bar for professionalism. He doesn't show up, can't return a call or text, why even bother. So very disappointed!

Since then, the property owner has sent three checks to Frakes-Scapes Landscaping for yard maintenance, all of which were cashed. However, no landscaping services have been provided since November of 2024. I contacted Jeremy, the owner of Frakes-Scapes, on Tuesday, May 6th. He assured me that he would come by this week to clean up the yard and advised the owner to stop making further payments. Unfortunately, he never showed up. I followed up with a phone call on Thursday and a text message but received no response. I sent another text on Friday--still no reply. Out of frustration, I contacted the local police. Although they couldn't take formal action, they did reach out to Jeremy. He falsely told the officer that we had already spoken and agreed that he would complete the yard work soon. I clarified to the officer that Jeremy only answered the phone because law enforcement contacted him. Yet he had promised to come by this week and never did. After the police call, Jeremy finally reached out. However, he was extremely unprofessional and said, "I don't know why you contacted the police, they're not going to do anything. I should have never told you that I would be by this week. You sound like a miserable woman." He also stated he would refund the three payments to the property owner. I strongly advise anyone in the area NOT to do business with Frakes-Scapes Landscaping. Jeremy is clearly a SCAM ARTIST! Based on my experience, this company is unreliable and dishonest. I will be filing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

David and his crew handled every aspect of the build including general construction, electrical, plumbing and gas lines. I found David to be easy to work with, very responsive and transparent about costs and timing. We did make some changes along the way, which David was more than happy to accommodate. Each change and addition resulted in an amendment to the original quote so we always knew what we were being charged. We also added a few additional landscape jobs which David was able to seamlessly incorporate into the kitchen build. David's crew members were a pleasure to work with. Ultimately, we got exactly what we wanted and are very happy with the final product. I would highly recommend Groundworks Landscape Co for any type of outdoor project.
