New Day Massage, is the premier Washington state licensed mobile, in-home therapeutic massage service of Yakima, WA. Most all pain is derived from muscle dysfunction caused by unnatural demands of our bodies. Our bodies are designed to move, but in this society, we maintain unnatural posture (computer posture for example) for hours, days, weeks, ...years at a time. This leads to muscle holding patterns that are not conducive to proper blood flow to the muscle tissue. Lower back pain and neck and shoulder pain are prime examples of the repercussions of these holding patterns. Deep tissue massage helps to stretch the individual muscle fibers, muscles, and groups of muscles, allowing the blood to flow through the tissue in a much more optimal matter which in turn carries the necessary oxygen and nutrients to the tissue and ultimately relieves pain. Established in 2011.
My best friend was a retired special ops Navy Chief Petty Officer who carried old war wounds with him. He couldn't raise his arm past his shoulder and I had seen the back cramping drop him to his knees on a couple of occassions. I started working on him very aggressively, usually 3-hour sessions weekly just on his back and neck and shoulders. The cramping lessened and he was able to raise his arm past his shoulder. I learned a LOT working with him but most of it was a mystery as to how. When i did finally get to attend the Inland Massage Institute in Spokane, the instructor was explaining trigger points to us and i about jumped out of my seat ...THAT was what i had been doing and i didn't even know what it was! I could talk all day about trigger points and deep tissue and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation and muscular compensatory patterns but my family and friends usually just roll their eyes. i really love my work, and i owe my happiness to my friend's pain...thank you, Chief
