You can choose how spicy you want for the dish: none, mild, or full spicy. Me, I'd always like to be original spicy flavors of Indian dishes. The place and ambiance is good. The tables, chairs, and settings would epitomized some restaurants in Indian continent. I was been in two cities in India before so I could discern some decors as similar in some aspects.

I'd say their chicken curry is good but what I cook is suited for my taste. Me and my colleagues have ordered the chicken biryani and naan (something like pita bread) chicken curry. The most notable thing is how spicy their yellow colored rice is (I believe it's called Biryani)! One colleague loved the Indian food and the other didn't like it. I was just okay with it but if it was in bigger serving, I wouldn't be able to stand the spiciness. They have tomatoes with coleslaw on the side to probably not be sick with it. Their chicken curry sauce compliments the rice and the naan. The place is a bit small but it's fine, Indian-themed, with red, white, and yellow colors. The service was bit slow, we had to tell the waitress in the cashier that we were gonna order already. But other than that, it was fine. The menu had some variety, I just think they can add more options in there. The price is just right for the serving size. I don't think they have other branches yet. It's a good idea they put up an Indian restaurant there cause it's very rare to find here. I will probably recommend this for Indian friends (if I'd have any) and probably those who want some new cuisine although I'm not a fan of Indian food. But this is honestly not gonna be on my worth going back lists.

Ganeza is a curry place that serves predominantly Indian food, although there are other types of curries like Japanese. We tried their naan, samosa, and vegetable rice since a lot were out of stock. Their naan is very good and made from good quality ingredients, very authentic too. It comes with a sauce and it is a meal in itself. The samosas are also tasty and has enough spice. The rice is spicy but good. We are happy with what we ordered. Service is fast and good. Can be a choice for future eats.

Just passable 2.5 star Indian food rounded up!…read more We ordered goan fish curry because there was no vindaloo dish (odd right?!). With the curry we had chicken tikka and garlic naan. Our take-out Bangladeshi spicy beef biryani from Baclaran was better, and that should not be! This curry house on the waterfront of the MoA complex is attractive enough inside, but the output from the chef/cook should be the reason for its existence: * the goan curry was good with lots of fish but average in flavour, and the gravy too thin and runny for a curry dish (longer cooking time or a little corn or potato starch would help?). * the chicken tikka was good but lacked zing even with the regular condiments (green dip, shallot, and lime/lemon), had a wet texture instead of crispy brown on the outside and moist on the inside, and was missing the depth of tandoori flavour. It just was not very good. * even the garlic naan was slightly less tasty than average. I tend to be generous when reviewing any cuisine, and am more generous in a country like the Philippines where it's extremely hard to get any ethnic food that's better than blah or even unsafe! Also eating when we were there were 3 groups of Indians - which is usually impressive - and one woman said the food was good, but I differ with that assessment. The best Indian resto in Manila, 'Kashmir' in Ermita, has closed after having been there for over 25 years: most unfortunate but if you want, see if their branch in Makati is still open? If so, check it out? But ... would we return to this place? No, not ever. At home I can create a dish far better than this marginal stuff any day of the week. With your Indian-national cook, shame on you, Royal Curry House. Your food is not rich or royal, and barely bearable! And don't blame your cook: he's not being trained or supervised by a seasoned chef... As with almost every resto in the Philippines, this place is a huge let-down. We won't be back!

I really like the place itself. It's tucked away in Legazpi Village and has a warm, intimate feel, with dark interiors, chandeliers and just enough color to give it character. It feels cozy without being too casual, and it's a nice place to settle into for dinner, especially when you're ordering several dishes to share. We had the vegetable biryani, chicken tikka masala, fish curry, palak paneer and naan. The vegetable biryani was fragrant and flavorful, with the long-grain basmati rice nicely separated instead of being heavy or oily. Their current menu also has quite a good selection of biryanis, including chicken, mutton and shrimp. The palak paneer was one of my favorites. Rich, creamy spinach with paneer, comforting and really good eaten with the naan. The naan came out warm with those slightly charred edges you want from the tandoor, and naturally we kept using it to mop up all the sauces. The fish curry was another good one. Flavorful and nicely spiced without everything tasting the same. That's something I appreciate about Mantra. When you have several curries on the table, you can actually taste the differences between them. Then there was the chicken tikka masala. It arrived extremely spicy. And I do mean extremely. It was much hotter than I wanted, so I asked them to take it back and adjust it. They did, without making an issue out of it, and when it came back it was so much better. Once the heat wasn't overpowering everything else, I could actually enjoy the richness and spices of the sauce. I also appreciated how the staff handled it. No fuss, they just fixed it. Service throughout dinner was very good. The staff were attentive and accommodating, which made a difference, particularly with the chicken tikka masala situation. Overall, everything we ordered was very good. The flavors are bold, the portions work well for sharing, and there's a good selection for both meat eaters and vegetarians. I also like that it feels like a proper sit-down restaurant without becoming overly formal. Mantra now has another branch at Molito in Alabang, so people in the south don't have to make the trip to Makati. Mantra Indian Kitchen & Bar The restaurant's own site currently lists these two locations. For me, Mantra remains one of the better Indian restaurants in Manila, especially when I'm craving the classics: a good curry, palak paneer, biryani and plenty of naan on the side. Just one note from this visit: if you don't like your food very spicy, say so when you order the chicken tikka masala. Mine definitely came with a serious kick.

And what's also great is that for us vegans/vegetarians, here's a place in BF Homes where there are very, very decent options. They have a vegetarian section in their menu. We got the Alo Palak and Malai Kofta. Alo Palak is a potato and spinach curry dish that, in my opinion, is spiced perfectly as the spinach and potato flavors are still able to stand out even with the curry sauce. The Malai Kofta did not disappoint as well, and it actually looks so adorable (sorry haha) with tiny onion slices on top of each ball, as if they are wearing hats! Anyway, the veggie balls are really tasty--though if you're particular with texture, these balls are quite on the soft side. I really enjoyed my meal!
