I have to say we feel so lucky to have found Neverland Daycare. We searched for a long time to find a place where we felt comfortable leaving our son day in and day out and have the peace of mind that he was being well cared for. They have gone above and beyond and truly exceeded all of our very high expectations. Our son is excited and looks forward to each day. A place that provides healthy, organic, home cooked meals(no generic cafeteria food i.e. chicken nuggets and lunchables), an engaging/varying curriculum of activities, and above all a safe, clean and loving environment. Neverland is a rare gem and sets the standard for child care. You really feel the love shine through. I wouldn't send my child anywhere else.

    But first...safety glasses

Never land is truly the royal treatment! Organic food daily with a school environment and there are field trips too. Did I mention the holiday treatment the kids get? Feast! Look no further if you want your kids to be and feel loved. Auntie Nina is truly an aunt to our daughter Lani. She looks forward to seeing her and her friends on the daily. Lani has grown so fawn of her second home that she wants to leave her first...sometimes. She does mention everyone's name and uses the word Loves. This goes to show how much our daughter loves her daycare. The activities that are done at daycare are age appropriate and Lani is so proud of her work wanting to show them off. Let's just say...when it's time for pick up, there were so many times when she didn't want to leave. Lani has been with her Auntie Nina since the first day she was able to attend and now we will shortly have our second daughter attend as well. This place is a gem. We as parents also love Auntie Nina aka Nary along with everyone at Neverland. Keep up the phenomenal work!!!

Gourmet meals, professional photography, personal on site massages, yoga, fitness...no this isn't the newest Fancy gym in the tri-valley, this is actually just a small percentage of the services my now incredibly spoiled (ha!) 16 month old gets from his absolutely amazing Auntie Nina and the folks at Neverland. Nina makes sure your child is beyond well taken care of. Sometimes I forget he isn't the only one there! He is beyond loved and taken care of. Her place is immaculate and her new house is lovingly set up just for the kids. She clearly pours herself into this job. She sets up developmentally appropriate activities for them and engages them every day. Every holiday is a serious matter! :) I honestly think he is bored on the weekends and can't wait for Monday to roll around so he can go back to see his Auntie and "Kunckle". Thank you guys, what would we do without you!

There are also so many programs and projects listed in the newsletter we receive regularly. They do a wonderful job helping her build strong fine motor skills, and Fridays are especially fun because of dance day, which she looks forward to each week. What really stands out is the staff. Ms. Hamina and Ms. Kendall are genuinely kind, sincere, and caring. The teachers are always going above and beyond for the kids, and we always feel comfortable knowing our daughter is in good hands. Last month, they even put on an art show featuring all of the kids' artwork, which was such a thoughtful touch and a proud moment for us. We also really appreciate the cozy, home-like environment--it feels safe, welcoming, and perfect for young kids. Most importantly, our daughter absolutely loves going every day, which says it all. My son went to this daycare for about a year in 2023. Our experience was a mixed bag…read more The good - It's my son's first daycare and he had a relatively smooth start here. Michelle and her crew are experienced, and they did create a cheerful environment for the kids. The bad - Sloppy day-to-day operations, or so we suspect at least. We could only speculate because the daycare was never open-door to parent visits (aside from the after-hour tour before we enrolled), but there were clear signs: (1) after the final checkout we found our son's steel mug missing, and it sounded like the crew didn't even remember seeing it - makes us wonder how they manage each kid's personal items. (2) Apparently, kids get to watch TV the last hour-ish before pickup every day. When we asked about this, Ms Michelle was 100% unapologetic. ("If you have concerns with that, I can totally arrange for your kid to stay in another room before pickup.") The ugly - The tuition uses a monthly rate without any adjustments for days off, and in December 2023, they're open for a whopping total of FOUR days - which isn't great, but nothing unethical I think, as they did share the calendar beforehand. We happen to be traveling the entire December, so we gave the 30-day notice for an end-of-November checkout. To our surprise, this was considered by Michelle an unfair (?) attempt to circumvent the December rip-off, and she insisted that we receive 5 fewer days of care in November. She would also go out of her way and type a "holiday notice" customized just for us. For context, the schedule has a 5-day off for Thanksgiving that's moved to December instead, and the daycare's open for the week of Thanksgiving. We were given a customized fake schedule that says they're closed during that week. We happened to be traveling, too, so it wasn't a huge issue, but the shady practice and bad attitude by Michelle did leave a bad taste. No, Ms Michelle, you can't claim people are "taking unfair advantages" when all they do is try to stick to YOUR established schedule. The care provided during Thanksgiving week was part of your schedule, simply as that and not a "benefit" that you selectively bestow only to those paying $2,000 for 4 days of care in the next month.

It would be great to be involved more in the class itself. We were looking for a family daycare environment that would be personal, caring and feel like home. Also importantly it had to match with work schedules averaging from 7:30 am-5:30 pm. His teachers Connie and Mikaela were wonderful. They offer both English and Mandarin language education that supplements what we speak at home. The Lanci house is clean, safe and dedicated to the kids play indoors and outdoors. After trying to organize our home based on Montessori principles, I appreciate that the toys are age appropriate and accessible. There's a small area for cots and cribs for napping and our baby never lost sleep. He's benefited so much from being with other kids both his age and older. He's hit so many milestones including rolling over, sitting and now crawling! He has tried and loved all the foods he eats there. I love that I get updates about all his activities throughout the day (eating, napping, diaper changes). In response to Evelyn's comments:…read more My previous review outlined the unique characteristics of Lanci and what sold my family to sign up. While my conclusion is an opinion, it is based on my family's experience and documented evidence. Regardless, I hope Yelp users take every review with a grain of salt whether 1 or 5 stars. The Bantry location was cited for being overcapacity for both children and caretakers (license # 015700135). The 1:2 to 1:6 ratio depends on if other children are sick/vacation and/or there is staff available. The latter has been difficult with the staff turnover. In my experience at the Bantry location, ~55% of the time spent at Lanci was at a 1:4 ratio, which was not what we signed up initially for. 1. There were no requests to change any policy. The contract I signed did not have a clear vacation policy and I had to get clarification and find common ground with Evelyn. We agreed in writing to a solution. The other reference to the contract was when all infants at Bantry contracted COVID-19 due to a caretaker testing positive a few days prior to all infants being ill. I inquired about the Provider's Sick Day policy and Evelyn agreed to reimburse parents for the days the Bantry location was closed. 2. My family honored the sick policy and that Evelyn was the final arbiter even with a medical opinion in hand. We complied when she requested us to pick up our son as soon as we could. As previously mentioned, our experience has been a hit-or-miss - sometimes our son or other children could attend with cold-like symptoms, other times they could not. 3. Expectations about Lanci were set during initial interactions with Evelyn prior to signing up. I agreed to supply our own diapers/wipes without a tuition adjustment. As Lanci could not fully accommodate for a vegetarian/vegan diet, Evelyn and I agreed to a $100/month tuition adjustment to offset my cost to provide snacks/meals to my son when he started solid food. No further discounts were inquired for. Towards the end of 2022, Evelyn introduced a new ~$350 materials fee for 2023. I asked if my family could be waived given it would exceed our 2023 budget as a tuition of $2750/month is expensive for an 18-24 month year old program. She responded with a no and I respected her decision. Again, the purpose of my review is to provide an updated account of Lanci based on my family's experience and observations.
