When I asked Ms. Singleton to correct the issue, she claimed she was "just a runner," even though her business advertises professional document preparation services. She showed limited understanding of the applicable laws -- particularly NRS 240A (duties of document preparers) and NRS 247.145 (Recorder's authority) -- and repeatedly deflected responsibility instead of providing professional guidance. During our communications, Ms. Singleton made inappropriate and unprofessional comments, including personal remarks such as "I feel so bad for you" and "You have a tendency to hang onto a matter to prove your intelligence." These statements were unnecessary, condescending, and contrary to professional standards expected of a licensed preparer. Only after multiple written requests, formal citation of Nevada statutes, and notice of potential complaints did Ms. Singleton refund my money in two separate Zelle payments. While the refund resolved the financial portion, her behavior, lack of procedural knowledge, and initial refusal to accept accountability demonstrate a pattern inconsistent with the professional standards required under Nevada law.

AET insist, they are no longer the holder of the account. I've been back and forth, to no avail. They don't answer the phones, return phone calls or email. My experience during the approximately four weeks of representation was extremely disappointing. Early in the representation, Mr. Burton strongly recommended that I request a change of judge in my existing case. I followed that recommendation and subsequently had significant concerns regarding the proceedings before the newly assigned judge, including my experience that I was not given an adequate opportunity to speak during the hearing. I ultimately regretted following the recommendation to change judges. In the TPO matter, I was particularly concerned about the level of preparation. Approximately five minutes before the hearing, I observed Mr. Burton working on notes for the matter. From my perspective as the client, I expected my attorney to be substantially prepared in advance for a hearing involving an existing protective order. I also did not recall being advised that pursuing the TPO matter was not worthwhile before the hearing. I also experienced what I considered to be significant organizational and communication problems during the representation. Work was, in my experience, frequently handled very close to deadlines, including an opposition response for which I was concerned about meeting the applicable deadline. Mr. Burton's public response to my review also states that I received a "complete refund" and that he "voluntarily refunded every dollar she had paid." I dispute that statement. My records show that I paid $4,000.00 and received a refund of $2,063.00, leaving a difference of $1,937.00. I have retained the payment and refund documentation supporting these amounts. Contrary to his narrative, two eyewitnesses can confirm I arrived 25 minutes early to court, where Mr. Burton appeared without a single document or piece of evidence prepared. I also dispute statements in his response concerning my character and suggesting that I have recurring conflicts or that my recollection of events is unreliable. Those statements do not reflect my experience and are not supported by the facts and documentation relating to my representation. This review reflects my personal experience as a former client and the records I retained concerning the representation and payments. Based on that experience, I would not recommend Mr. Burton for anyone's legal matters. A brief look over of Mr. Burtons's responses to critical client reviews on yelp and other pages further proves a well-established pattern of volatile temperament, deficient self-awareness, and a pervasive lack of professional accountability. Rather than adhering to the ethical standards expected of a licensed practitioner, Mr. Burton consistently engages in retaliatory, unprofessional conduct that undermines the integrity of the legal profession.
