I am always on the lookout for markets in other countries, I will admit I am somewhat addicted to visiting them to see what local delicacies they offer. When I noticed Dresden had a market and a mere ten minute walk from my hotel, I was ecstatic!
Finding the market was not too difficult as walking the main pedestrian "walkway" will run you right into the indoor market. Once inside I was excited to see the first few stalls offering delicacies from not only Germany, but Russia as well. That is where my excitement ended as most stores only possesed chotchkies and various overpriced mass produced goods. At one end is a fairly good sized market which is great if you need to pick up any food or alcohol at a affordable price point. Other than that, you can be in and out of this market in under an hour sadly.
Was it worth it, possibly, but I would not suggest going out of your way if you are a market fanatic as there is not much to explore sadly. read more
